Job Description
The Transfer Evaluation Coordinator is responsible for the examination of students’ academic records and uses his/her own discernment, along with the Director’s when needed, to determine the appropriate individual course equivalency at Old Dominion University ( ODU ) and where the credit will fit into the ODU curricula. Decisions impact articulation reviews, graduation clearances, and advising associated with additional course requirements for degree completion.

Working knowledge of PC-related software and information systems to include Microsoft Office products and Banner or comparable programs. Demonstrated skill in exercising a high level of discernment and judgment to determine the appropriate credit for each student’s course work. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple administrative tasks. Demonstrated ability to work with detailed, factual information from a variety of sources. Demonstrated ability to retain extensive knowledge of the academic programs and coursework offered at the university. Demonstrated ability to perform in a professional manner in a team environment, and to interact professionally with the public. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines when completing shared office tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, and to interpret and follow established policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment to make appropriate decisions in highly stressful situations.

Some administrative experience with student records in a higher education or enrollment services setting.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Extensive knowledge of application/evaluation processing operations and SCT Banner student information system. Extensive experience in an Admissions or Registrar’s Office, with a working knowledge of the administrative processes associated with enrollment service offices and the ability to work collaboratively with other personnel within a variety of departments. Ability to speak a second language.
Conditions of Employment
Given the nature of the positions in Student Engagement and Enrollment Services that provide support to student services and/or student-centered programs, the employee occupying this position may be required to work during a university closing. These instances may include working from a remote location (i.e. telework, etc.).
This position is located on-campus and is not telework/remote eligible (unless instructed in special circumstances by supervisor).
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary range between $ - 32,842 - 35,000
