Position Summary
Training/LMS: Collaborates with HR and managers to develop and deliver responsive training and development programs and content to meet the needs of the organization. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Creates learning documentation, aids, and training materials for users. Administers a learning management system (LMS). Loads, configures, tests and maintains learning content. Posted position does not allow for sponsorship or relocation.

Essential Responsibilities:
Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organizations employee population and develops training content in response to identified training needs. Selects training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted. Collaborates with the HR Business Partners on training needs and opportunities for the expansion of talent development within the organization. Prepares training room, materials and arrangements for live training. Creates and maintains course content, manuals, or other training materials. Writes and maintains technical procedures, documentation and job aids. Learning Management System administration and set up. Works on assignments dealing with the routine and daily operation, use, and configuration of the Powell LMS. Manages community areas within the LMS including functionality, appearance, tabs, and settings. Maintains procedures and policies to ensure the integrity of LMS content. Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing data and recommending solutions to utilize the LMS to deliver, track training and measure performance to meet organizational objectives. Tests, populates and manages the course asset library. Populates course information and assigns learners. Develops and updates standardized tools and reporting for ongoing access to learning information; generates standard and custom reports. Builds online assessments and evaluations in LMS.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Instructional Technology, Human Resources, Communication, Human Resources Development, Video Production, Marketing or related field. 0-2 years’ experience in related position/functions. Coursework and/or experience with training course design and development. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization. Ability to gain new technical skills quickly. Customer service skills, responsive. Strong oral and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Oracle Cloud, Captivate and/or iSpring preferred but not required. Experience in developing content for globally diverse target audiences is a plus. Coursework and/or certifications relating to learning management system administration preferred. Experience in the development of multimedia (graphics, instructional animations, video, etc.).Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise in the development of instructor-led training and e-learning. Experience with software and technology used in design, development and delivery of training. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects is desired. Thorough understanding of adult learning theory. Advanced proficiency with computer skills using MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Quick learner and possess a technical aptitude. Ability to partner with all levels of the organization. Must be able to multi-task and have good organizational skills.Work and Environmental Conditions:
Temperature controlled working environment. Typical office environment; may experience minor discomfort from extensive use of a computer display and keyboard; periodic travel between Houston campuses required. Some travel possible. Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs. Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm. Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.
