Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate training logistics for staff professional development training opportunities and UNCG Human Resources campus events and to market and promote professional development programs, workshops and services across campus. This position is in the Learning and Organizational Development (L&D) unit and reports to the Director for Learning and Organizational Development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of learning and development experience.  Experience developing and delivering training content to a diverse audience. Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, instructional design, or a related field and three to five years of experience as a learning and organizational development specialist. Demonstrated organizational skills including the ability to develop and manage a training catalog, support subject matter experts with training activities, design training content, delivery training in a variety of formats (e.g., workshop, virtual, on-line, etc.). Experience in higher education or continuing education preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary. A demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others is essential. Percentage Of Time 25% Key Responsibility Design, deliver and manage LOD programs and projects that support the institutional plan. Essential Tasks Recommends appropriate LOD solutions to clients based upon research of best practices within the talent management industry; relationships cultivated with UNC-system LOD peers; and LOD vendors. Establish relationships with internal subject matter experts and provide guidance on developing and enhancing programs to best meet University goals and objectives. Develop and manage projects/programs plans, independently or as team leader, to ensure requirements and timelines are met. Provides high quality instructional design and professional facilitation of development solutions upon request (customized) and as identified through self-initiated needs assessment. Consults with leaders (director level and above) on organizational change and develop appropriate program recommendations specific to change management and strategic planning for both supervisory and non-supervisory personnel. Percentage Of Time 25% Key Responsibility Demonstrates knowledge of: adult learning theory and principles, instructional design techniques, and uses such knowledge to determine the correct or most appropriate course(s) of action. Essential Tasks Designs and plans effective group processes and select appropriate tools to guide groups towards productive outcomes. Guides and controls a group process to ensure that: there is effective participation; participants achieve a mutual understanding; contributions are considered and included in the ideas, solutions or decisions that emerge; participants take shared responsibility for the outcome; and questions are respectfully and properly addressed. Demonstrates understanding of how LOD programs and services interface with other HR functional areas (programs and services), and apply basic knowledge of State and federal laws relative to HR functional areas to refer constituents to the appropriate area/subject matter expert within HR. Percentage Of Time 25% Key Responsibility Guides clients through process mapping, gap analysis, and the implementation of solutions to improve efficiency. Essential Tasks Provides the LOD perspective on a variety of operational issues and develops appropriate action plans to address organizational development and learning development.  Establishes and maintains professional relationships with LOD clients by providing one-on-one consultations and coaching for individual development and customized learning solutions for their teams.  Coordinates and promotes development efforts across campus to leverage subject matter expertise and identify operational efficiencies.  Proactively stays abreast of LOD industry trends and emerging tools and strategies in order to provide relevant guidance to clients.  Anticipates changes in legislation, the economy, the workforce, UNC system and higher education that may require changes in programming.  Researches best practices and evaluates opportunities for application within the University environment.  Develops and monitors return on investment of training and knowledge transfer initiatives.
