We are looking for a driven, talented Training Specialist to join our Global Operations Training & Development Team. This individual will be responsible for accessing various software systems to provide Learning Management System (LMS) related support for internal personnel and will frequently serve as the first contact point for internal personnel seeking information, guidance, and clarification on Illumina training programs and assignment of training. Through regular interactions with team members, business process owners, trainers, and various levels of management across departments, the person filling this role will collaborate with internal customers to understand their needs and be able to identify an appropriate solution to fulfill the needs and exceed our customer expectations. The responsibilities for this role include a combination of collaborative team projects and independent assigned tasks. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Provide administrative training support for the global organization. 

Process Service Now ticket submissions for training requests 

Partner with operational management and other stakeholders to coordinate the grouping and assigning of training in the Learning Management System (LMS) including deployment and ongoing support of Role Based Training and On the Job Training 

Manage the catalog of training courses and certifications in the LMS 

Follow up on inquiries regarding training courses, LMS registration information, and e-learning offerings 

Assist in scheduling, set up, notification and attendance credit for instructor-led courses 

Contribute to customer satisfaction by providing information, guidance, and assistance with the LMS and/or training programs, assignments, issues, and metrics 

Compile training compliance reports for management as well as internal and external auditors, including excel spreadsheets and analysis as needed 

Host discussions with peers, management, and relevant cross-functional stakeholders to review tasks 

Support partnerships with all Global Operations sites and functional areas to facilitate sharing of training best practices and align training strategies and goals   

Participate in process improvement and program development efforts 

Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the learning experience and enhance training quality and effectiveness for employees

Requirements: 

Minimum 2 years successful experience in a similar position within an internal or customer training organization 

Willingness to work in shifts to support the US region (No night shift required) 

Strong customer service orientation and experience 

Experience with Learning Management System(s) and/or other training management/tracking systems  

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 

A positive attitude and team player 

Capability and willingness to execute job duties that are both project-based and/or administrative, depending on business needs 

Attention to detail and solid organizational skills 

Excellent oral and written communication skills  

High level analytical, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills  

Confidence exercising independent judgment in performance of duties 

Comfortable working with diverse and geographically dispersed teammates and organizations 

Motivated and eager learner 

 

 

 

Required Educational Background: 

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a training/education related field or equivalent related work experience  

 

Preferred Experiential Background 

Preferred experience with Product Lifecycle Management or Document Management Software  

Preferred experience working in the medical device or other regulated industry
