McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Training Manager position, to work onsite at the Burley, Idaho plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for the oversite of all aspects of factory-related employee training including: qualification processes, trainer development, budgeting, planning, coordination, and record keeping. The Training Manager serves as a coach and mentor to the Training Department and other functional managers who deliver training.
As a member of the site leadership team, this position will work collaboratively with site leadership to determine training needs that drive manufacturing excellence in alignment with the overall site strategy. The manager will utilize, develop, and implement training programs, which will include role based learning, technical training, safety/food safety training, train-the-trainer programs, and process management
Accountabilities:
Aligns learning priorities to support the plant’s vision and goals, including quarterly reporting on long term goalsDeploys and executes all MDI Capability development systems, ensuring plant maturity in each systemLeads coordination of all learning across plant campus Performs skills assessments, analyzes learning needs, and develops training materials/ programs designed to meet those needsDevelop and implement training standards and measures (key performance indicators) that support the vision of self-sufficient teams in support of site strategyEnsures training materials are current and updatedEvaluates learning on all levels and incorporates feedback during continuous improvement cycleEnsures accurate documentation of employee attendance and performance at all training sessionsDelivers training programs to target audience within the local manufacturing plantFoster the development of internal subject matter experts through Train-the-Trainer program to leverage internal training resources and promote knowledge transfer within the organizationProvides primary support for new learning technologies as they become available, coordinating and preparing training schedules to accommodate facility needsControls training expenses and manage expenditures to meet the training needsProvides guidance to functional peers on training best practicesManages direct employees and provides guidance to supervisor/leads on training executionCoaches and develops Training Facilitators and others responsible for the delivery of training within the operationProvides people leadership functions such as time keeping, vacation planning, taking call-ins, performance discussions and yearly evaluationsEnsures compliance of all mandatory required trainings (e-learnings and other core and additional trainings)Manage onboarding learning for new employees, and new to role, including orientation, functional and role based learning, plus their on the job learning with SMEFosters a learning culture in the plantCommunicates and provides change management guidance as new learning and technologies are launched at the plant
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Business, or related field, or an equivalent amount of related experienceA minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leadership role within plant operations, preferably in a continuous Process Food Industry; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for the right candidates.Completed learning in adult education and/or willing to complete within first 18 months in role
Skills:
Knowledge of training and development practices and methods, continues curriculum development including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials for the variety of technical and ownership skillsSkills and ability to facilitate learning through a combination of online, classroom, hands-on, virtual and on-the-job trainingStrong presentation, group facilitation and public speaking skills, confidence in influencing, consulting and partnering with various audiencesAbility to communicate with individuals across various organizational levels, including written and verbal communicationsAbility to lead a team of trainers and Subject Matter ExpertsAbility to earn the respect, acceptance and trust of peers, subordinates and superiorsAbility to collaborate within the plant and cross-plant with fellow learning leadersProficient in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word Proficient with learning tools such as LMS, and eLearning authoring toolsWillingness and ability to work flexible hours to support the needs of 24-hour operation.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 -$130,000.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
