Responsibilities 1.Performs Combat Arms initial, recurring, and remedial training to all AF/Navy assigned to the National Capital Region (NCR). 2.Performs and enforces the full range of police officer duties within the military installation. 3.Performs scheduling duties for the National Capitol Region (NCR). 4.Conducts Combat Arms/SF armory operations including duties in weapons, ammunition and equipment storage, issue and accountability. Weapons inspector for all weapons assigned to the NCR. 5.Manages NCR ammunition account for Combat Arms training. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, GS-1712 series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the full range of security forces, and police and law enforcement services which requires considerable training, experience, and proficiency to perform the full range of operations in preventing or resolving offenses. Knowledge of standardize federal laws, regulations, methods, procedures, operating techniques, Air Force instructions, state, and local laws to perform tasks including, but not limited to pursuing and apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist arrest; identifying and arresting violators based on eyewitness accounts; performing dispatcher duties involving passing of directions and information to officers on patrol assignments; seeking, detecting, and protecting evidence and witnesses at the scene of an incident; detailing witnesses and suspects; and making arrests and performing booking procedures. Knowledge of investigative techniques to adequately handle complaints and incidents which may entail performing initial investigative actions prior to turning over to other investigators. Knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures and tactics to support installation physical and contingency operations. Knowledge of forearms and tactics for employing them in emergency situations. Knowledge of alarm and electronic monitoring system operations and how to interpret signals and other outputs. Knowledge of emergency services, tactics, and procedures, including weapons and chemical agents, negotiation, building layouts, terrorist threats and counter terrorism methods, search and rescue techniques, crowd and demonstration control, etc. Knowledge of assigned weapons and teaching practices for each. Knowledge of running a firing line and student control. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or I have a bachelor's degree in education or a subject area related to the position and am claiming Superior Academic Achievement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Knowledge of Combat Arms based related programs and objectives in order to identify training requirements, skill upgrades and develop training/instruction programs that will assist in meeting ground weapons instructional, training and qualification training needs. 2. Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs, including the skill and ability to demonstrate operation, maintenance, and combat employment of all weapons used in the course of instruction. 3. Knowledge of security forces concepts, policies, directives, requirements, procedures, technology, methods, and techniques. 4. Knowledge of police officer procedures and operating methods to perform the full range of police officer activities independently. 5. Skill in the use of automation software and related equipment. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to include the ability to deal with diverse populations from educationally disadvantaged to college graduates, as necessary. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
