The Training/Exercise and Operations Support Specialist (Junior Instructor) is essential in driving the success of the Joint Commercial Operations Cell's (JCO) Training and Exercise programs. This role focuses on designing, delivering, and refining comprehensive training initiatives tailored specifically for JCO software tools and operational methodologies. The Junior Instructor actively ensures personnel achieve high levels of proficiency and readiness through engaging, interactive training sessions that incorporate cutting-edge instructional techniques and technologies. Additionally, this position contributes significantly to strategic initiatives, supporting the alignment of training programs with evolving operational requirements and objectives. Ideal candidates will excel in dynamic, collaborative environments, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and exhibit a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in training delivery.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and execute training programs tailored to the needs of personnel engaged in JCO operations.
Conduct engaging and informative training sessions, incorporating adult learning principles and accommodating diverse learning styles.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to align training materials with operational requirements and best practices.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to trainees, fostering a conducive learning environment and addressing individual learning needs.
Lead efforts to improve training processes and instructional methodologies, leveraging feedback and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Operate JCO operational and prototype tools & command and control systems during training sessions and provide technical assistance to users as needed.
Contribute to strategic development initiatives, including the adoption of project management and operations management practices to optimize training programs' effectiveness.
Stay abreast of advancements in software tools and training methodologies, integrating new techniques and technologies into training/exercise programs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training program effectiveness, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Support operational activities as required, ensuring seamless integration between training and operational functions within the JCO training and exercise program.
Train and certify to perform JCO crew operations, and perform a monthly number of shifts as designated by the Training and Exercise (TrEx) Lead in coordination with the JCO Regional Coordinator.
If selected for the Exercise team, you will maintain instructor certification to augment training when necessary and to ensure competency in JCO operations.
Utilize simulation tools and virtual training environments to enhance realistic operational scenarios during training sessions.
Support the maintenance and update of training management systems and databases to accurately track training completion and certification statuses.
Assist in developing instructional content and course materials aligned with standardized military training protocols and command-specific requirements.
Facilitate the integration of Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) scenarios into training exercises when appropriate.
Coordinate and support training audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established training standards and directives.
Work Environment:
Location: Colorado Springs, CO, with significant presence at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB)Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required (less than 10%)Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week.Requirements:
Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a technical or software-related field, with a focus on adult learning principles and diverse learning styles.
Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and adaptability to other emerging tool suites.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing training-related challenges.
Self-motivation with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a team environment and independently.
Basic understanding of IT support principles, particularly in administering software tools.
Must be eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience or certification in project management and/or operations management, with a focus on program optimization and efficiency.
Experience with Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking or Joint Commercial Operations highly desirable.
Expertise in process improvement methodologies and instructional design principles, with a track record of driving measurable improvements in training effectiveness.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Agile program management practices.
Familiarity with military operations or previous experience in a military training environment
Bilingual proficiency in English and one or more other languages, including (but not limited to): Spanish, German, Japanese, South Korean, French, or Polish, to facilitate effective communication with diverse trainee populations.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Basic Compensation:
$75-100k
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
