Responsibilities:

 

Preventative maintenance on tanker trailers, trucks, flatbed trailers, van trailers, and some fabrication. Must be able to diagnose power units and use computer software. Inspect the overall condition of trailers to ensure that they meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.

 

Qualifications:

 

High school education or equivalent and/or letter of equivalence from the Department of Transportation preferred. Two (2) years of on-the-job experience as a truck/trailer mechanic is required. Must be able to make inspections and perform maintenance/repairs to the Department of Transportation regulations. Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL Air Break Certified Must be an effective team member. Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and related support areas. Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
