Traffic Data Collection Field Technician

Position Summary: The Traffic Data Collection Field Technician is responsible for data collection and will be responsible for setting up count equipment in the field. Types of data collection include turning movement counts, portable counts, pedestrian and bicycle counts and various traffic studies. The technician will be required to work both inside of the office and in the field depending on the tasks being performed. Field operations may require working in a wide range of weather and roadway conditions.  

Compensation for this opportunity is $54,00.00 - $62,4000.00/year commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

Work with other field staff  Download count data  Counting vehicles at intersections (manually or via video)  Placing tubes in road to count traffic  Deploying cameras at intersections  Taking digital photographs and noting other field data information  Conducting various other studies such as vehicle occupancy and origin destination studies
