Fast-paced, dynamic, multi-commodity trading environment with time-sensitive, business critical activities requiring strong planning and organizational skills and attention to detail. 

The Trading Originator, Gas must develop and execute utilizing a deep understanding of TGPNA trading activity and Affiliate businesses to successfully support both with relevant origination and marketing activities.  The role is highly client-facing, requiring strong communication and inter-personal skills necessary to be a successful negotiator, and excellence demands a high degree of independence and initiative.


PURPOSES

Propose and execute profitable (or cost savings) commercial transactions and midstream solutions to optimize the asset portfolio and create tangible value (measurable PnL)Comply with the Code of Conduct, Compliance Manual and all policies and procedures of the Company and the GroupExecute deals within the framework of TGPNA’s limit and trading policyCreate a collaborative dynamic with other front office teams, support functions, and cross-functional departmentsSupport TotalEnergies Affiliates to maintain credibility and quality of relationship and facilitate further commercial opportunities Activities Identify, evaluate, and close commercial, multi-commodity transactions for internal and external stakeholders across the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream value chains Work directly with external counterparties and with TotalEnergies affiliates (Exploration & Production, Refining and Chemicals, New Ventures) Responsible for Contract Negotiation; Deal Structuring and Execution; Marketing and Procurement Activities; and Project Coordination and Development Collaborate and ensure optimal coordination between all internal teams : Trading, Operations, Business Development, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Accounting, and other Support/Control functions Interface with TotalEnergies Affiliates’ Management teams for Business Reviews & Contract Updates Interface with the Gas, Power, and Emissions Trading Desk through Information Sharing, Asset Optimization, and providing Trading Liquidity support Maintain key Industry relationships within all Industry Segments – Upstream, Midstream & Downstream, and represent TotalEnergies as the primary commercial “face to the market” with external counterparties. Provide Expertise related to Natural Gas and Natural Gas Liquids related to TotalEnergies’ businesses, both domestically & Internationally

Work to implement and deliver the US multi-commodity commercial strategyDeliver new opportunities to maximize portfolio value and meet & exceed annual P&L targets in lock step with the GPE Gas and NGL Trading teamMaintain strong working relationships and fluid coordination & communication lines with all internal and external stakeholdersComply with the Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures of the CompanySupport TGPNA Trading Team strategiesSupport TotalEnergies Affiliates business development efforts in the US


DIMENSIONS


The Gas Originator will work to help identify, develop, negotiate, and execute commercial transactions aligned with the US Gas Origination Strategy.  These transactions will focus on Gas and NGLs, and will also include multi-commodity purchases and sales, short and long term structured financial and physical transactions, project structuring, supply and marketing contracts, and other large scale commercial commitments while assisting the Company in the transition to new energies and decarbonization.  Day to day, the Gas Originator will work closely with the US Gas desk to deliver new trading margin and structures that compliment the trading portfolio, maintaining a high degree of professionalism and exemplary reputation as a face to the market, maintaining and growing key internal and external customer relationships and supporting the Trading Business Unit mission.


Deliver P&L contribution to the US Gas trading P&L from third party dealsDirectly influence commercial business flows and group infrastructure commitments Candidate Profile Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of Experience in the Energy Business related to Trading, Marketing, & Business Development Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, negotiate, coordinate, and execute various multi-commodity, physical and financial commercial deals Extensive Knowledge of the Energy Business across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Value Chain including detailed commodity knowledge, macro market dynamics, various financing structures, risk management tools, and commercial deal structuring Established network of industry relationships Strong Analytical and Technical Capabilities, and familiarity with relevant credit, legal, & compliance frameworks Strong stakeholder manager with the ability to work in a Team Environment and Communicate Effectively Capability to work both independently and collaboratively with a large base of stakeholders Excellent oral, written, and analytical, skills, with a strong attention to detail and leadership skills Additional Information TotalEnergies values diversity, promotes individual growth and offers equal opportunity careers.
