Position will have responsibility for managing Canola oil, including responsibility for Canola oil pricing and trading position. This position will support the BNA Refined Oils Trading Lead with the Canola refinery analysis and margin setting.
 
Core Functions:
•    Manage the Canola oil pipeline/marketing plan.  Ensure it is updated weekly with correct information.  Direct where oil flows to most economical destinations.
•    Responsible for all Canola oil sales prices on a daily basis. Responsible to set values for Canola oil basis for all North American refineries, packaging plants, and bulk customers.  Responsible to approve deviations as necessary. 
•    Complete ownership of the refinery flows and S&Ds, including with input or oversight to what the Supply Chain is doing.
•    Responsibility for the Canola oil trading position, including working the export trader on most economical flows between crude and refined.  This includes all third party procurement for refined and specialty oils, and managing our overall message to the market for Canola oil. 
•    Support BNA Refined Oils Trading Lead in reviewing the Canola refinery PNL.  Including analysis and price/margin setting.
•    Support the standardization of trading processes and controls between the U.S. (Canola) & Canada (Canola).
•    Support the management of the Specialty Programs with Soybean Procurement Managers & Canola Product Line Manager.  Monitor risk of the program, help define a clear PNL, and work with sales to accurately set margins and prices. 
•    Develop and maintain relationships with the Canola oil sales team.  Increase their understanding of the market, and shape messaging to customers, including in person meetings.
 
Skill/Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture discipline
•    5 to 7 years related trading experience required
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Strong working knowledge of and proficiency in Excel, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Word as well as basic computer functions
•    Understanding of cash and futures markets required
•    Understanding of domestic and export markets with emphasis on both origin and destination export business required
•    Knowledge of North American crush and refining margins, freight spreads, and a strong understanding of supply and demand (both internal and external)
•    Strong organizational and time management skills
•    Successful experience working directly with customers
