Job Description

Primary Purpose:
 

Will work with internal and external contacts.Internally will deal with all levels of the organization including senior levels.Externally will deal with customers, suppliers, etc.Information exchanged will be technical / legal in nature and can be highly confidential.

 


Duties & Responsibilities
 

Responsible for classifying Western Digital’s products, components and technology with:Assignment of Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) in accordance with the importing and exporting country tables. Knowledge of GRI’s, understanding of referring Chapter Notes, Section notes & Cross Rulings.Assignment of Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN's) according to the Bureau of Industry and Security's, Commerce Control List (CCL)Support implementation of approved internal trade projects related to classification and other import and export area, submit binding rulings when necessary and applicable Support denied party screening & Country of OriginCommunicate with relevant vendors, engineering design /Product Management/Sales/Procurement team to determine and validate product classification.Respond and maintain classification data in the Oracle-GTM, and complete classifications assigned within the defined turnaround time.Ensure data integrity related to classification and value information declared to Customs authorities. Responsible for ensuring legal compliance within government rules and regulations pertaining to classificationParticipate and Contribute to the development of Trade operations team by identifying opportunities for process automation and simplification.Provide support and details to the supervisor on the monthly KPI.Responsible for any other task that is assigned by the management from time to time.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).Experience: 4-5 years of hands-on experience in HS & ECCN Classification, RPL Screening, customs operations, import/export documentation, or international trade.Technical Skills:Knowledge of INCOTERMS, Customs regulations, and compliance requirements.Strong understanding of import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.Proficiency in Oracle GTM software.Experience with the Harmonized System (HS) codes and classification of goods for customs purposes.Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customs authorities, vendors, and internal stakeholders.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing documents and ensuring compliance with complex regulations.
