Starting pay range $19.50 to $23+ per hourMonthly Attendance Bonus - $1 per hour workedWeekly Production Bonus - Variable - recent payouts have been $5 per hour worked, paid weeklyEligible for annual bonuses

Job Description

Position Description: 

Basic functions of tooling set-up and repair. Tooling attendants work independently or with production to perform proper tooling, set-up, and scheduling. Work in conjunction with mill changeovers and assist production personnel when needed. Cleans and stores tooling in a marked location. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Inspect all roll stands for wear and broken parts. Repair or replace all worn parts including but not limited to shafts, bearings, plates, rolls, and jacks. Insure roll stands are ready for change over and are accurately gauged per prints using gauges, spacers, calibrated equipment. Check roll schedule daily to prep for next rolling. Package and send out unrepairable rolls for regrinding. Keep current and accurate records of rolls being refurbished. Keep tooling and tooling area organized and clean. Keep accurate prints on file and all changes approved by manager. Attend all scheduled company & safety meetings. Follows and enforces company safety policies and safe work practices at all times. Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors. Submit detailed and accurate work orders for any machinery / equipment issues in a timely manner. Judge tooling damage/wear and directly coordinate with outside sources for repair and timely return. Must have successfully completed OJT & JSA Training. Ability to cross train others for the position and be cross trained elsewhere as needed. 

Physical & Work Requirements: 

PPE = Personal Protective Equipment required in all plant positions. May require change in shift hours and occasional overtime. Manufacturing warehouse environment, uncontrolled climate, dusty and noisy working conditions within OSHA guidelines. Requires standing bending and lifting 50lbs or greater on a daily basis. 

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise: 

General knowledge of roll forming, use of micrometers, calipers, depth gauges. Understanding several types of bearings and a thorough knowledge of tolerances. Sufficient reading and writing abilities to perform essential duties such as tooling records and set-up charts. Organizational skills a must. Ability to document detailed changes, shipments and returns. Basic computer skills. Ability to operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic equipment, crane and forklifts, torches, use of machinist equipment via: end mills, lathes, grinders a plus. Safety Orientation Mechanical Comprehension Achievement Orientation Responsibility Thoroughness / Detail Orientation Teamwork Persistence 3 Years minimum experience High school Diploma or G.ED.  Job Footer (US)
