**Primary Function of Organizational Unit**
The Office of Title IX serves as a designated neutral resource. The office does not advocate for any individual or the institution, but rather promotes fairness by acting as a source of information and referral, helping individuals understand their options, and assisting in and facilitating the resolution of concerns and critical situations. In considering any given matter, the office considers the perspectives of all parties involved. This office supplements—but does not replace—the University’s existing resources for formal conflict resolution.
**Primary Purpose of Position**
Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Title IX Coordinator has primary responsibility for coordinating and implementing the University’s comprehensive Title IX compliance efforts. This role also supports the development of a campus culture that fosters a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning, working, and living environment. The Title IX Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for addressing all forms of sex-based and gender-based discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, ensuring that the University’s response is prompt, equitable, thorough, and compliant with all applicable legal and ethical standards. Additionally, the Coordinator leads institutional efforts related to strategic planning, policy review, training, education, prevention, response coordination, data collection, analysis, reporting, and record retention in accordance with Title IX and related federal and state regulations.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
+ Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Title IX compliance, including investigation, response, prevention, and training.
+ Proven track record of success serving in the role of Title IX Coordinator or a related leadership position.
+ Strong ability to design, develop, and deliver educational programs and workshops on Title IX, sexual misconduct, and related topics.
+ Ability to provide culturally responsive guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff, including technical expertise for institutional compliance.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, and other applicable public safety and civil rights legislation.
+ Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough, trauma-informed investigations, analyze complex information, and render well-reasoned conclusions.
+ Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across diverse populations and departments.
+ Proven conflict resolution and mediation abilities, with sensitivity to varied perspectives and lived experiences.
+ Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report preparation, particularly related to compliance and institutional reporting.
+ Demonstrated capacity for independent judgment and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.
+ Ability to assess, revise, and implement policies and procedures, with a strong orientation toward continuous improvement and equity.
**Minimum Education/Experience**
Master’s degree or a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. At least 3 years of relevant legal or investigative experience; Advanced degree such as a J.D. may be substituted for some experience. Experience gathering and reviewing documents.
**Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation**
As the Title IX Coordinator, this person must be familiar with Title IX regulations and reporting as required by federal and state laws and General Administration guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
**Function** Administrative
**Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.**
+ Review and respond to reports made to the Title IX Office in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
+ Ensure that all components of the Title IX grievance process are implemented in accordance with university policy, including oversight of communications, procedural steps, and coordination among involved parties.
+ Conduct intake meetings to provide information about Title IX processes, parties’ rights and options, confidentiality, supportive measures, and referral resources.
+ Oversee the provision and coordination of supportive and protective measures, such as academic, housing, transportation, or workplace accommodations.
+ Consult with leadership to evaluate and determine appropriate accommodations and interim actions to ensure continued access to educational programs and activities.
+ Manage Title IX case files and ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with institutional policy and federal law (including FERPA).
+ Coordinate with campus partners to support a comprehensive institutional response.
+ Ensure follow-up with parties to assess ongoing needs and connect individuals to appropriate resources.
+ Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act, fulfilling required reporting obligations.
+ Support Title IX compliance at all campus locations by ensuring consistent application of procedures and training requirements.
+ Collaborate with partners, including legal counsel and Title IX offices at affiliated institutions, to ensure prompt and equitable resolution of Title IX complaints.
+ Collect and analyze Title IX case data to identify trends, inform policy development, and improve service delivery.
+ Serve on university committees and working groups to contribute subject matter expertise, and support campus-wide initiatives related to equity, safety, compliance, and student well-being
+ Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support a safe and inclusive campus climate.
**Function** Training and Education

+ Design and implement training programs for students, faculty, and staff on Title IX rights, responsibilities, reporting options, and prevention of sex-based discrimination and harassment.
+ Collaboratively coordinate campus-wide educational efforts on sexual misconduct, consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and retaliation prevention.
+ Coordinate with campus partners to provide outreach for pregnant and parenting students to ensure awareness of their rights under Title IX and access to accommodations.
+ Encourage reporting by fostering a supportive and non-retaliatory environment, emphasizing confidentiality, equity, and access.
+ Collaborate with campus departments and student groups to deliver culturally relevant and trauma-informed programming.
+ Raise visibility of the Title IX Office through campus engagement, presentations, and participation in institutional events.
+ Monitor participation in mandatory Title IX training modules and follow up to ensure compliance with institutional and federal training requirements.
