A Thin Films Deposition Operator must demonstrate a safety-first work routine, have an understanding of the critical details and parameters with their assigned process and the ability to work with process engineering or management to resolve production issues.  The individual needs to be able to coordinate workflow with co-workers and effectively communicate cross functionally and train as required. The individual in this position will perform a variety of tasks in support of the optical coating processes, associated metrology, and inspections where they will be expected to perform the processes, maintain chambers, measure critical parameters, and determine/record yield, run, and other data under minimal supervision.

**1st Shift: Start time negotiable in Goleta, California. This is an onsite position.


What You Will Do

Cleaning of optics and maintenance of chambersSource preparation and deposition of coatings in chambersMetrology including but not limited to spectrophotometry, metal thickness evaluation, dimensional analysis, defect analysis, and moreCross functional communication and teamwork to track WIP, move production, and address process anomalies in a timely manner

Qualifications You Must Have

High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to work safely with various deposition processing equipment, chemicals, and raw production materials in a lab setting with basic gowning requirementsMinimum 2 years of related Thin Film deposition coating experienceHas experience in Microsoft OfficeAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearanceU.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualification We Prefer

Strong interpersonal communication skills and rigorous attention to detailUnderstanding of FOD and FOD reduction methods and concernsExperience in Excel and production tracking systemsExperience in a cleanroom environment with the ability to maintain all ESD, Safety, and security protocolsMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience

The hourly range for this role is $26.98 to 36.50. The hourly range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
