Therapeutic Training & Support Staff/Therapeutic Mentor
ARBOUR-FULLER
Responsibilities Therapeutic Training & Support Staff / Therapeutic Mentor - This is a bachelor’s level dual position where you would be taking cases as both a Therapeutic Training & Support Staff (TT&S) in the IHT program and a Therapeutic Mentor (TM) in the TM Program. Fuller Hospital is a 109-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility located in South Attleboro, Massachusetts providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. Fuller Hospital also provides a less intensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse About our Community Service Programs (IHT and TM Programs): Our Community Services Program houses 2 separate programs - The In-Home Therapy Program (IHT) and the Therapeutic Mentoring (TM) Program: IHT is a service that provides youth with intensive therapy and family sessions in the home, guided by a master's-level clinician (IHT) and a bachelor's-level support staff (TT&S). Our goal within IHT is to meet with the family (often multiple times per week), in order to improve family dynamics, healthy functioning within the home/community, and to ultimately prevent them from stepping up to a higher level of care. We work intensively with the family until they are stabilized and able to transition to a lower level of care (i.e., outpatient therapy). TM is less intensive and involves taking the child/adolescent out into the community to work on various skills such as teaching daily living skills, practicing social and communication skills connecting the client to community resources, etc. Role Descriptions: Therapeutic Training & Support Staff (TT&S) Within the IHT program, the bachelors level TT&S works alongside a master's level In-Home Therapist to provide mental and behavioral health services to children/adolescents and their families in their homes. The IHT facilitates family sessions that the TT&S would also co-facilitate when able. The TT&S also works with the client individually, practicing and building the various skills they’ve learned. Therapeutic Mentor (TM) Within the TM program, the TM takes the client out into the community to work on skill building and and identifying community resources. The TM will have a MA level “Hub” (either an ICC, IHT, or OPT already on the client’s case) whom they will speak with weekly and obtain guidance with interventions and treatment Benefit Highlights $200/ Month Student Loan Repayment Professional Development / Tuition Reimbursement - $5,000 per year Weekly supervision provided by a licensed clinician Competitive Compensation Generous Paid Time Off – 5+ weeks per year Annual Merit Raises Mileage reimbursement - $0.70 per mile Cell Phone reimbursement Company Laptop Challenging and rewarding work environment Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plan 401(K) with generous company match and discounted stock plan Career development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ Subsidiaries Position Structure Client Diagnoses: We see a variety of diagnoses and presenting problems; such as trauma, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, etc. This provides a great deal of experience for the clinician. Hours: We are currently hiring both part time (24 Hours) and full time (32 or 40 hours) staff. The typical work day hours vary as you will be making your own schedule with the families. During the school year, sessions often take place in the afternoons once school is out. However, you are welcome to schedule appointments during the day if applicable and on weekends, if you and the family prefer to do so. Caseload: Caseload depends on your status and how long/how often you are seeing your clients. If you are part-time (24 hours) you may have around 4-6 cases; full time you may have 8-10 cases. There is no set amount of clients you would have to take, just however many clients it takes to meet your hours. Areas of Service: We service the Southeast Region of MA. The bulk of our referrals come from towns such as Attleboro, Taunton, Mansfield, Norton, Foxboro and surrounding areas. We also take cases in New Bedford/Fall River area for clinicians who live in that area. We try to keep you centralized in a specific area to avoid extensive travel. We also try to obtain referrals in your desired areas when possible. Crisis Stabilization: As a TT&S, your clients may call you if they are in crisis and in need of support. We create safety plans with all of our clients so they have a safety plan protocol to follow which outlines skills for them to use and supports that they can call (typically including IHT, TT&S, TM, outpatient counselor, natural supports, mobile crisis, etc.). If you are unavailable to take the crisis call, you can direct them to call our 24-hour crisis line. Supervision: You will receive one hour per week of face-to-face supervision with a licensed clinician (in-person or via zoom). This hour can be spent discussing your cases, identifying interventions for treatment, reviewing paperwork, conceptualizing cases, or reviewing any concerns or questions you may have, etc. In addition, weekly group supervision is now offered. Staff Meeting: Staff meetings are mandatory and are 1 hour per week. Staff meetings consist of reviewing important program related information, community resources, case consultation, trainings, and discussions. *Currently, due to COVID-19, staff meetings are taking place biweekly via Zoom. Program updates are sent weekly via email. Group supervision is offered every other week in place of the staff meeting. Paperwork: Progress notes and billing for the week (Sun-Sat) are due before the following Sunday. You will be writing progress for each client throughout the week documenting everything being done with/for the client such as sessions, phone calls, treatment planning, etc. As a TM, in addition to the initial intake paperwork and treatment plan, you will also have other paperwork such as treatment plan updates to complete every 3 months. You will keep a timesheet of all your hours worked. You will be putting all of your time spent working in any capacity on your timesheet. 75% of the time submitted on your timesheet should account for the billable tasks you’ve done that week (such as sessions, phone calls, treatment planning, etc.) and the other 25% should account for any non-billable tasks (such as driving, supervision, and staff meeting). Telehealth: We currently offer in-person sessions unless telehealth is specifically requested by the family.
