Test Technician I (Ordnance)

The Technician conducts complex destructive and non-destructive testing in accordance with written procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) or Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs).   This position also requires the ability to interpret dimensional drawings and perform test setups. 

Responsible for design verification and acceptance testing of pyrotechnic and electronic products. Must be familiar with test equipment (i.e.: oscilloscopes, multimeters, environmental chambers). Reviews system-level Acceptance Test Procedures for a wide variety of pyrotechnic and electrical devices. Troubleshooting, calibration and adjustments to test equipment, components, and systems. Correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components Use small hand and power tools along with various measuring and testing devices. Perform appropriate duties associated with specialized IT project-based activities. Participate in process improvement meetings and team 5S activities. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications – External/internal:

1 year+ of testing and/or mechanical inspection. Knowledge in the use of basic electronic test equipment (volt meters, current meters, O-scopes).  Basic mechanical measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) and hand tools.  Familiarity with MS office products.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. AS in related field and/or military experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

Test lab conditions (wearing PPE where required) Standing 8-10 hours per day Capable of lifting 40 pounds
