Test Technician

Description

Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process. Working on or monitoring the output of an automated assembly line or assembly station. Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.

Key Responsibilities:

- PLC Programming:

- Set up, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems to ensure optimal machine performance.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to modify and enhance existing PLC programs as needed.

- Pipe Cutting:

- Operate bandsaws to cut pipes to specified lengths and dimensions, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.

Will work to perform tests and set up equipment that uses PLCs

Connect and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems

Familiarity with electrical work

Experience with pumps, VFDs, boilers, control valves, and PLC operation is a plus

Works under moderate supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks

Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects

Operates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions

Collaborates with higher-level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

•\tHigh School Diploma or GED

•\tStrong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting experience, and be mechanically inclined

•\t3+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools

•\tMechanical skills

•\tMoving/lifting weights up to 35 lbs

•\tExperience with Instrumentation set up, troubleshooting and calibration

•\tSet-up of laboratory equipment

•\tStrong PC skills

•\tExperience or familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation preferred

•\tReading and interpreting complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints

Experience Level

1+ years experience in a manufacturing or test environment troubleshooting and/or programming PLCs

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
