What You Will Do

Measure physical phenomena (e.g., temperature, pressure, mass flow, acceleration, speed, electrical properties, etc.) in the pursuit of Engineering product development

Design, build, tune and automate Data Acquisition and Control System for Laboratory test facilities or flight test applications

Consult and advise Engineering on measurement techniques, sensors, instrumentation, signal conditioning, computing, or other special test equipment needed to enable their specific inquiry

Procure instrumentation and test services, oversee the fabrication of your custom measurement designs

Collaborate with Lab Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to design, build and operate unique and state-of-the-art test facilities in our several specialized Labs – Pneumatic, Fuel, Hydro-Mechanical, Vibration, Electronic

Manage the installation, check-out and troubleshooting of test setups and systems

Direct and train Instrument & Measurement technicians to operate the systems you’ve created

Provide data reduction, analysis, and reporting of measurement results to Engineering customers

What You Will Learn

Hands-on experience in Engineering R&D and product validation for cutting-edge aerospace products and systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience 

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required ​

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance ​

Qualifications We Prefer

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with operating systems and programming languages.

Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or other data acquisition environments.

Experience creating mechanical or electrical engineering drawings and schematics, using Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks, or UnigraphicsR

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
