We are looking for a Test Engineer. This position will be based at Buffalo Grove, IL.
As a functional test equipment engineer at Siemens you will design, develop, and maintain equipment used to test the functionality of various products or components. This involves a mix of electrical engineering, software development, and mechanical engineering. The primary goal is to ensure that our products or systems operate correctly and meet specified performance standards.
As a Test Engineer, you will:
Design and Development Create test equipment and fixtures tailored to specific products. Develop testing protocols and procedures to ensure comprehensive evaluation of product performance. Collaborate with design engineers to understand product specifications and testing requirements. Programming and Software Development Write, maintain, and improve test software for various test systems. Integrate test equipment with existing software systems for data collection, data analysis, and label printing. Testing and Validation Conduct tests to validate the performance and functionality of products. Analyze test data to identify defects or areas for improvement. Report findings and suggest corrective actions. Maintenance and Calibration Provide guidance for regular maintenance and calibration of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Documentation and Reporting Document test procedures, results, and any issues encountered. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field. 3+ years' experience in a test engineer role Experience with CAD software for designing test fixtures Proficiency in programming languages (such as C, C++, Python) Knowledge of hardware and electronic circuits Strong analytical skills to identify and solve issues quickly. Meticulous approach to ensure all aspects of testing are thoroughly covered. Ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:
