Hello, future Test Analyst
This role is within FNB Connect and Service Provider Technology and will be responsible for evaluating software applications to ensure they meet business and technical requirements. This role also involves creating test plans, executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and provide assurance that risks associated with implementing new systems are accurately quantified and addressed.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze detailed business requirements specifications (BRS) to develop testing strategies that reduce the risk of system outages and identify system defects.
Develop, document, and execute test plans and test cases.
Manage the administration of testing scripts integration, capacity, system, user acceptance and release to maintain compatibility with existing applications, hardware and devices.
Prepare and submit detailed test reports to describe testing outcomes and assist developers in the removal of defects
Perform functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
Identify, log, and track defects using test management tools.
Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues.
Ensure test environments and data are set up for testing activities.
Conduct exploratory and automated testing to enhance test coverage.
Report on test progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Participate in requirement analysis and provide feedback on testability.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 4 - 5 years' relevant experience in Software testing.
Must have a strong understanding and experience in the Software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Have at least 2 years hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured).
A minimum of 2 years' experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).
At least 1 year experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
ISTQB certification or equivalent.
1+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
1+ years of experience in performance and security testing.
Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL).
Prior experience in Testing on Digital and banking platforms will be advantageous.
Knowledge of performance and security testing.
