Territory Sales Manager

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will focus on the growth of the Medisca brand by leading and managing a team of highly motivated BDEs (Business Development Executives), AEs (Account Executives) and SSRs (Sales Support Representatives) for a specific territory.  You will be accountable for building strategy, strengthening existing client relationships, and achieving sales objectives of your assigned territory through upselling or existing accounts and new client prospection.  You will demonstrate leadership by acting as a role model, coach and spokesperson for your team.

The role is situated in British Columbia (9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 9:00am - 4:15pm) PST

Travel:  Four (4) to eight (8) weeks a year to attend tradeshows, client visits and training.

The opportunity

Lead the sales territory

Execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets by attaining territory sales quotas and profit objectives. Recruit, develop and retain a team of high-performance sales and support representatives. Approve pricing, promotions and returns keeping alignment with company’s guidelines. Manage account profitability by analyzing sales and profit margins. Represent the company at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and events to showcase products/services, generate leads, and network with potential clients.

Performance tracking and reporting

Implement robust systems for tracking and analyzing sales performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs), sales conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs. Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights into sales performance, trends, and forecasts. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust sales strategies as needed. Regularly track progress towards these goals and implement strategies to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency. Analyze sales and profit margins. Monitor sales metrics and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Coach & guide the sales team

Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to maximize their potential and performance. Provide direction and leadership to BDEs, AEs and SSRs teams, including how to build relationships with customers. Manage employee development to ensure key position successors are in place; prepare, execute, and follow up on employee development action plans, including personnel reviews. Assist team members to manage and resolve customer issues. Assist with planning visits to maximize visibility and account contact. Travel through the territory to, coach, train and guide BDEs, AEs, SSRs as required. Develop a collaborative process with entire team to effectively service and manager each of these accounts Identify training and develop needs for team members. Collaborate with other TSMs in sharing best practices to be shared with team members.

Think Strategically

Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and stay up to date with market trends by building a network. Build and maintain relationships with top accounts within territory. Identify opportunities on how to help grow the compounding industry and share insights with Senior Management. Responsible for collecting customer and competitor insights from territory and sharing with Marketing to keep the team informed of market developments. Develop and execute sales strategies plans and tactics to achieve sales targets. Discuss existing accounts with team & strategize on how to increase business. Ability to identify customer needs and understand the competitive landscape.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Sales, marketing or Science background an asset Four (4) years+ experience in a sales role Experience in the pharmaceutical industry Proven experience in sales management, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, coach and recruit a diverse team. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suit (Word, Outlook and Excel) required Excellent communication and listening skills; fluent English (written & oral)  Possesses strong sales skills and business acumen. The ability to utilize internal support systems, perform in-depth sales analysis, and develop strategic business building plans for the territory. Must be results-driven. Able to work both independently and within a team environment. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Effective communication, listening, decision making, problem solving and negotiation skills. Adaptable to change.
