What is the Territory Development Specialist responsible for?

The Territory Development Specialist is a key contributor to our mission of empowering Senior Advisor Consultants to maximize sales potential in their regions. This role focuses on providing tailored support to underserved areas, ensuring all offices receive the assistance they need—both in-person and remotely. The Specialist will concentrate on Capital Markets, Portfolio Construction, Product Knowledge, Time Management, and Client-Centric Selling Techniques.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Territory Development Specialist?

As a Territory Development Specialist, you’ll work closely with a dedicated client to help grow their business, attract new investments, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the client’s sales teams by providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure they have the tools to succeed. The ongoing responsibilities of this role include:

Strategically increase assets under management by attracting new investments and nurturing existing client relationships, ensuring all clients feel valued and supported.

Facilitate training sessions for the client’s teams, enhancing their product expertise, sales techniques, and overall effectiveness, while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Work collaboratively with product specialists and subject matter experts to reinforce relationships and drive sales initiatives, encouraging diverse perspectives and approaches.

Tailor sales approaches to align with evolving market conditions and client needs, providing value-added insights and strategies that consider a variety of client backgrounds and experiences.

Manage travel and entertainment expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, while also being mindful resource allocation.

Offer continuous coaching to client’s teams, guiding them to meet their performance objectives and fostering a culture of success.

Engage in approximately 75% travel to visit clients and advisors across the territory, delivering personalized support and fostering strong relationships.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum of 5+ years in asset management sales with a proven track record of success in driving sales and business development.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and adapt to various communication styles.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal resources, emphasizing collaboration and respect for diverse viewpoints.

Familiarity with asset management products, services, and current industry trends.

Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment, valuing contributions from all team members.

Series 7 and 63 FINRA Licenses are required.

Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous, reflecting our commitment to serving a diverse clientele.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $85,000-$100,000
