The Johnson Laboratory (http://www.johnsonlaboraotry.com (https://apptrkr.com/get\_redirect.php?id=5944801&targetURL=http://www.johnsonlaboraotry.com) ) is accepting qualified research technicians to assist in the laboratory at the world-recognized University of Colorado located in scenic Boulder Colorado beginning in April (negotiable) and concluding in December 2025.

**Who We Are**
The Johnson Laboratory ( http://www.johnsonlaboraotry.com ) in the world-recognized laboratory at the University of Colorado.
The Johnson lab research focuses on two pervasive and inter-related forms of biological change: disease emergence and species invasions. Both have important consequences not only for individuals and populations, but for entire ecological communities and ecosystem processes. Invasions and disease can also have costly economic and health repercussions for human society. Our group strives to bring a broad perspective to these questions by combining field experiments, large-scale spatial and temporal field data, molecular tools and ecological modeling.
**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
+ The primary responsibilities of the selected individual will be to perform necropsies on a wide range of amphibian, fish, and snail species to identify and quantify macro-parasite infections.
+ This will include: (1) isolation of macro-parasites for molecular and morphological vouchers and abundance, and (2) use of microscopic imaging techniques to identify and document parasites in situ.
+ In addition, the individual will assist with data entry and analysis on camera trapping and acoustic monitoring projects, as well as support Sr Researcher with annual reporting and permit applications.
+ Finally, the individual will be expected to assist with daily management of the laboratory including husbandry of live amphibians, fishes, and snails, data entry and data clean up, freshwater pond sampling, and to assist with laboratory and microcosm experiments.

**What We Can Offer**
This position salary will depend on experience level of candidates (starting at $18.00 per hour up to $22.00).
**Benefits**

**What We Require**
+ We require an ASS and/or BS or minimum of 2 years of experience in a research laboratory or similar work.
**What You Will Need**
+ Competitive candidates should have prior independent research experience, which needs to include necropsy of vertebrates, proficiency with data entry and management in Excel and R studio, and some parasite identification skills.
