Your Challenge:

Assembles and tests electronic products having both hardware and software systemsWorks as directed on daily work assignments to meet customer commitmentsFollows Operations Methods Sheets in order to build product properly and minimize errorsUses written and verbal communication to relate equipment and process information to other team members and support functionsChanges direction to accommodate work priorities as neededPerforms visual inspection of all components and finished subassemblies and finish products to specified criteria to ensure high qualityMay work in other work centers and/or departmentsMechanical assembly of products can include:Mechanical assembly of sheet metal enclosuresSimple solderingStrip and tin wiresWire to solder cups in connectorsInstall hardware where neededFollow printsOperation of light machineryPre-testing of equipment before assemblyCycling of equipment through electronic and environmental testing equipmentThis position requires physical attendance at assigned job site, typically PacStar HeadquartersOther duties as assigned

What you bring

High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of three years’ experience utilizing basic assembly equipment and tools, e.g., strippers, crimpers, cutters, soldering iron, screw drivers, drillsRead and understand drawingsRead and understand wiring schematicsFollow proceduresAdapt to new processesComfortable working directly with engineersDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentAble to build cables, connectors and other simple electronics assemblies from sketches and other informal documentationElectro-mechanical assembly skillsWork well under pressurePrevious experience using a personal computer with a Windows operating system requiredDemonstrated ability to multi-taskDemonstrated ability to solve problems, think independently and act innovativelyDemonstrated self-motivationAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeAbility to work overtime as requiredStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to know when to ask appropriate questionsAccuracy and attention to detail is a mustMust be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
