Position Summary

Assists Registered Nurse with care of patients by observation and recording of cardiac rhythms according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of the RN and within the scope of their certification, after initial orientation and completion of a skills check list.Essential Job FunctionsAccurately identifies cardiac dysrhythmiasParticipates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary teamCompletes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelinesParticipates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources including charges, inventory and ordering departmental suppliesAssumes responsibility for ongoing personal development and meeting annual in-service requirementsGreat Patients and visitors and answers and directs phone callsFacilitate a smooth flow of patients through the department from admission to discharge.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate good judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all timesMust be able to work in a busy and stressful environmentComputer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic medical records softwareOrganizational skills and the ability to prioritizeInterpersonal verbal communication skillsCreativity, problem analysis and decision making
