Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer Location: Holyoke, MA Job Type: Hybrid Overview We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications and Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SCADA telemetry transport protocols, communication infrastructure, electrical installations, network analysis, voice communication systems, circuit management, firewall and network security, and wide-area network technologies. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Technical Skills + SCADA Telemetry Transport Protocols: + Field experience with DNP3, ICCP, Synchrophasor, STTP. + Communication Infrastructure: + Experience with cellular and satellite antennas, booster infrastructure. + Familiarity with microwave systems and tower-based radio infrastructure. + Electrical Installations: + Experience with DC and AC electrical installations. + Network Analysis: + Proficiency with protocol analyzers like Wireshark. + Experience with common infrastructure monitoring protocols (e.g., SNMP). + Voice Communication Systems: + Working knowledge of automatic ring down voice circuits. + Design and implementation of analog and digital voice systems (PBX, VoIP, SIP, LTE). + Circuit Management: + Experience with multiplexers, circuit design, and management. + Firewall and Network Security: + Understanding of firewall policies, TCP/UDP ports, ACLs. + Wide-Area Network Technologies: + Familiarity with MPLS, Ethernet, IP routing, DMVPN, SD-WAN. Responsibilities + System Design and Implementation: + Design and implement voice communication systems. + Configure and maintain multiplexers. + Performance Analysis and Optimization: + Conduct performance analysis and identify improvement opportunities. + Collaboration and Project Management: + Collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Participate in project planning and management. + Technical Guidance and Documentation: + Provide guidance to junior engineers. + Develop and maintain technical documentation. Minimum Requirements + Educational Background : + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications/Network Engineering, or related fields. + Professional Experience: + 5+ years in telecommunications and network engineering. + Technical Knowledge: + Advanced knowledge of OSI model layers 1 and 2, intermediate knowledge of layer 3. + Experience with analog and digital voice communication infrastructure. + Software Proficiency: + Experience with Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming software. + Soft Skills: + Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. + Ability to work independently and in a team. Additional Skills + Experience with project management methodologies and tools. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr.
