Work Situation Factors Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, working to deadlines, occasional work beyond normal business hours, and responding to customer issues . Duties and Responsibilities + Performs outreach activities each month to communicate and facilitate museum programs and events; plans effective outreach activities and provides education and insight. + Plans, organizes, and directs special programs; meets and engages with city staff, educators, community groups, and members of the public to discuss programs and projects. + Designs, develops, implements, and monitors various marketing and promotional efforts, makes public presentations regarding museum activities and programs. + Monitors, evaluates, and reviews programs for effectiveness and success; recommends new programs and updates to existing programs. + Tracks services provided to the community and monitors results of projects and specialized programs; generates, prepares, and presents various special and recurring reports to provide timely and accurate information. + Provides excellent and efficient customer service to visitors; answers and responds to inquiries from the public; prepares and presents various special and recurring reports to provide consistent, accurate, and timely communication an information. + Trains and assists instructors, volunteers, Co-ops, interns, students, and camp counselors; coordinates events, meetings, and other visits; creates seamless workflow and logistics to enhance the museums credibility within the community. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Education, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Science or related and six (6) months of art and museum experience. A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied in accordance with City of Las Cruces policy. Licenses/Certification(s) Valid driver’s license may be required or preferred. If applicable, position requires an acceptable driving record in accordance with City of Las Cruces policies.
