Technology Process Trainee
Description Apply Now Open sharing options Save Saved Share Process Trainee is a technical expert responsible for ensuring high availability of a suite of applications in the production environment. You will participate technical discussions and prioritize work streams during the service restoration process. You will assist in root cause analysis, assess potential solutions and work with application and Infrastructure technology subject matter experts to introduce permanent fixes in the production environment. You will review and interrogate changes being introduced into the production environment to assess potential risk to the applications. This position suits a person who is a self-starter, thinks outside the box and enjoys coming up with innovative solutions to solve business and technology issues.

Process Trainee will be a key member of the of Digital Technologies applications team, a dedicated team of highly skilled technical resources supporting the Advice Wealth Management business on a 24x7 basis. Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Incident Management

Manage service restoration/recovery of applications.

Ability to drive production incident bridge calls for P1 and high priority P2 incidents.

The ability to assist team with troubleshooting efforts: log file analysis and research for Distributed technologies (JAVA, Oracle, Unix, Informatica, Container frameworks and orchestration frameworks) and Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure)

Perform moderately difficult and independent assignments in troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and problem resolution in one or more technologies within the technical area of expertise.

Assess & recommend solutions for permanent fixes to improve application stability and resiliency.

Review production related changes upon risk assessments.

Should be open to learn new technologies/tools.

Very Good Working knowledge on the ITSM processes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors/Master degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.

Person should have above qualifications and 0 -6 months of experience in relevant disciplines including:

0 -6 months of relevant experience.

Informatica Power Center

AWS Fundamentals

UNIX Scripting

ITIL Understanding

Docker

Kubernetes

AWS RDS and other managed services

Experience using application and/or Infrastructure monitoring tools- Splunk/Sumologic/Datadog/Grafana/Kibana

Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.

Availability outside of normal business hours to provide after hour or "on-call" support to solve high impact incidents/problems.

Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical information across multiple organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who have used following tools (or have familiarity with below) will have added advantage:

Hands on experience in Cloud administration and Devops tools is a plus

Hands on experience in supporting applications hosted on AWS and AWS Managed Services.

Knowledge of Tivoli Work scheduler (TWS), Mainframe System, RDBMS, SumoLogic, Dynatrace concepts is a plus.

Knowledge of Infrastructure (to include Middleware) components (e.g. Storage, Message queue (MQ), WebSphere, Managed file transfer (MFT) etc.) is a plus.

ITIL framework certification is a plus.

Experience with development or support of applications within the Financial Services industry (preferably in Investments/Asset Management).
