Responsibilities

As an Interoperability Technology Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in project management, research, and communication by assisting in the creation and monitoring of project plans, generating presentation content, and conducting research on new interoperability capabilities.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful healthcare initiatives, collaborate with strategic partners, and enhance your skills in project coordination and communication within the healthcare industry.

 

Potential Responsibilities Include:

Assist in the planning and execution of projects aimed at improving Ascension’s interoperability and clinical data sharing with external partners and within the healthcare ecosystem.Help develop and monitor simple project plans by tracking milestones, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.Support the creation of presentation materials, including slides, talking points, and reports for stakeholders to communicate key updates, strategies, and findings.Assist in researching new interoperability capabilities, emerging technologies, and trends that can benefit Ascension and its strategic partners.Help draft points of view and analyses based on research findings.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical, and strategic partners, to support project objectives and ensure alignment on initiatives.Prepare written communications and reports to summarize project progress, research findings, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Requirements

Education:

High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
Additional Preferences Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Healthcare Information Management, Information Systems, or a related field.College-level proficiency with common business applications (e.g.,G-Suite, Google Docs, Google Sheets).Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.A basic understanding of healthcare systems, clinical data sharing, or interoperability concepts is a plus.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and support project goals.Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CDA) is a plus.Basic project management skills or experience using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana).Previous experience in research, healthcare IT, or clinical information systems.
