Performs diagnostic ultrasounds on adult and/or pediatric patients. Job Summary Job Summary Assesses the patient. Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Assists physicians with procedures. Provides age specific patient care and education. Notifies appropriate staff of concerns regarding patient care or physician’s orders. Assists in the maintenance of patient ultrasound exam information. Assists in maintaining the unit in working order. Participates in quality management activities. Education Associates degree in Ultrasound or equivalent as defined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Experience None. One year of experience preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or obtain ARDMS credential within one year of employment from hire date. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Qualifications Associates degree in Ultrasound or equivalent as defined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or pediatric certification. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or registry eligible. If when hired you are registry eligible status, you must obtain ARDMS credential within one year of employment from hire date. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
