Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Technician’s role is to provide on the floor production leadership to build Progressive Maintenance (PM) capability (breakdown elimination) and technical support (work order completion) for delivering the team’s operational targets such as safety, quality, and efficiency results.  Technician must participate in coaching, root cause analysis, and problem solving with other Make and Pack Technicians on team. The technician must effectively communicate priorities and escalate issues within their area and across shifts. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical issues, and support continuous improvement efforts to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Shift: Days - Rotational 2-2-3 shift pattern

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control panels.Troubleshoot Mechanical/Electrical equipment failures and identify root causes to minimize future issues.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.Diagnose and repair issues with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation systems.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical/electrical systems, including conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics, motors, relays, MCC’s and VFD’s.Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to resolve equipment issues and support production goals.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), such as SAP Plant Maintenance.Identify and recommend improvements to mechanical/electrical systems, processes, and equipment to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability.Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.Lead and actively participate in a MSE (Mars Supply Excellence) PillarTake ownership of a designated area and provide coaching to ensure all standards are understood and consistently followedMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance role.Strong understanding of electrical systems, including 480V 3-phase power, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.Experience with troubleshooting and repairing VFDs, motors, sensors, and other automation components.Proficient with hand tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley).Familiarity with CMMS systems, such as SAP.Experience in a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods.Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime.
