Job Overview Technicians must have knowledge of the most economical and effective layout of electrical installations together with the ability to achieve a high level of productivity in the work which they control. They must also be able to apply a thorough working knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IET Wiring Regulations for the Requirements of Electrical Installations BS7671, of the Electricity at Work Regulations, the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations, or any Regulations dealing with Consumers' Installations which may be issued, relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice, and of the Construction Industry Safety Regulations. Must possess particular practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge so as to be able to work on their own proficiently and carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner; be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials; be able to accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives. They must also have a thorough working knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, of the current IET Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations, The Electricity Safety, Quality & Continuity Regulations as amended (so far as they deal with consumers' installations), the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and of any Regulations dealing with consumers' installations which may be issued, relevant statutory and British standards and Codes of Practice, and of the Construction Industry Safety Regulations. To manage the company's projects to the specification and drawings from inception to completion. Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, the primary function and responsibilities of the Project Technician Engineer will include the site based leadership and management of traditional and Design and Build projects, with responsibility for planning, procurement, construction progress, handover, financial performance, commercial management and safe delivery of all projects under their control in accordance with the company policy & procedures and adhering to all statutory and regulatory legislation in order to meet the contract SLA's, KPI's, T&C's and departments targets for customer service and retention, growth and profitability. Responsible for planning and organizing the duties of employees within the project team. Have site supervisors reporting to them, along with non-management professionals, sub-contractors and directly employed operatives. Responsible for ensuring the profitability of projects is achieved in line with budget expectations.
Main Duties
Manage projects at site level to achieve company goals and objectives. Attend client meetings, surveys, and commissioning/site inspections, handovers. Manage project issues and ensure resolution is achieved. Identify resources, assign workloads and responsibilities to team members and manage schedules to ensuretimely deliveries of projects. Ensure that project team work in compliance with company policies & Mitie QA procedures. Develop and enforce best practices to ensure operational efficiency. Provide guidance & support to project team members and monitor their performance, discipline and attendance. Management of project supply chain including sub-contractors & suppliers. Managing the expectations and requirements of the client. Cost planning of projects and preparation of tender submittals if required. Arranging and managing all project related meetings. Involvement in internal and external design process. Procurement of materials, equipment and sub-contract works Responsibility for the delivery of projects in terms of time, quality and commercial risk control. Writing progress reports & presenting them to managers & clients. Monitoring and managing all contractors, consultants and third party suppliers within each project. Continually review contract delivery standards, and work in conjunction with the client to identify strategic improvements. Ensure compliance with legislation and statutory testing requirements within all Projects Manage Permit to Work process within areas of responsibility and ensure process followed Develop and mentor staff and operatives within areas of responsibility. Ensure use of technical training registers and authorisation registers within areas of responsibility Ensure project files and all filing is kept up to date and in accordance with QA procedures by contract admimteam Ensure full compliance with industry bodies at all times within areas of responsibility (GAS SAFE, REFCOM, IEE ect) Ensure the company Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that they are enforced through all areas of responsibility Ensure compliance with the Mitie Quality Management System within area of responsibility To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as requiredWhat we are looking for Reliable, flexible and team player.
