Key Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure a safe working environment and prioritize safety in all tasks. Conduct maintenance activities on mechanical and electrical systems. Review work requirements and determine the best course of action. Monitor and commission plant systems. Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on equipment. Support production departments with technical problem-solving. Conduct conveyor belt maintenance and tracking alignment. Manage work order backlog from submission to completion. Verify materials, tools, and labor availability before starting work. Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting. Oversee shaft alignment, bearing assembly, dismantling, and lubrication. Respond promptly to on-call requests to ensure equipment uptime. Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and consumables. Report shift activities through logbooks and SAP. Control and monitor contract technicians for asset maintenance. Contribute to training and development of department trainees. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with operational standards. Perform standby duties as per schedule Education:
Diploma-level qualification as a Millwright (Mechanical and Electrical). Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in heavy industry maintenance, preferably in smelting. Must be able to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical equipment. Skills & Knowledge:
Extensive PLC (Siemens) knowledge and experience. Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance expertise. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs. Strong understanding of maintenance planning and work order systems. Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting. Knowledge of field instruments and lubrication systems. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
