Responsibilities:

The Technician, process technology is expected to execute injection molding trials and maintenance & calibration tasks on injection molding machines & auxiliary equipment.

 

 

The primary functions of this position include but are not limited to:

 

Set up, operate and improve molding processes for numerous products on various hydraulic, electric and hybrid machines.Perform mold changes, minor mold repair and maintenancePerform some equipment modifications, maintenance and repairs.Calibration, Preventative Maintenance and Maintenance of injection molding equipment in the laboratory coordinating their work through Equipment Database known as GagePack.Maintain accurate records in a Workflow Management and Equipment Database (GagePack).Maintain a safe and clean work environment that complies with all safety/health related policies and procedures

 

Secondary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

 

Support and provide technical input to research projectsTroubleshoot complex molding problems, with understanding of product and machinery technologyTroubleshooting electrical & relay controlled machinery Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GEDAssociate degree or equivalent experience (i.e. minimum 4 years of experience on industrial machinery and/or injection molding equipment)Minimum of 4 years of with all or a combination of:Maintenance of industrial machinery and/or injection molding equipmentOperation of injection molding machines (auxiliaries and tooling)Excellent mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship in handling equipmentMathematical capabilities sufficient to calculate percentages, ratios, unit conversions and averagesSkills with computer data entry and applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPointGood interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to teamwork

 

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

PLC Integration, programming and troubleshootingKnowledge of 3-phase electric & AC/DC powerForklift driving experience and certificationKnowledge of Electrical and Print SchematicsKnowledge of Quality Control Systems and RequirementsLean and Process WorkflowMold Process Control training and experienceScientific Molding Principles training and experience preferred

This job requires working 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday, Overtime, working in close proximity to 300 - 700 °F mold equipment, regular climbing of stairs, regular crouching, frequent lifting of 55 lb. weights (floor to chest), frequent walking, standing and reaching in front of body and frequent climbing on/off fork-lift
