This new role is an exciting opportunity for a technically-biased writer to join SHI’s marketing team to lead the creation of advice articles, best practices documents, and industry analysis of the latest innovations in data center, cloud, cybersecurity, and end-user computing.

 

The Technical Writer will develop internal and external content through the power of the written word. This person will research, write, edit, and proofread copy for internal and external marketing communications. The Technical Writer will also support multimedia communications such as videos and event presentations.

 

The Technical Writer will coordinate with other functions within Creative (graphic design, video, and web) and the wider Marketing team to create original content for SHI and our audiences. They will also interview internal subject matter experts (SMEs) for articles and other publications, distilling their messaging into concise and compelling content.

Include, but are not limited to:

Maintain the SHI brand and voice, align with the SHI copy style guide, and be mindful of the desired audience for all content creation.Research, write, edit, and proofread copy – with clear calls to action and concise, engaging messaging – for the following content types:SHI Resource Hub articles, ebooks, and whitepapers.SHI.com solutions, partner, and event web pages.Video scripts.Event presentations.Digital and paid ads.Datasheets and one pagers.And more as needs arise.Work with product and growth marketing teams to produce and review creative technical content in support of campaigns and SHI’s content goals.Research SHI solutions, existing content, and tech industry best practices when developing new pieces so they can be effectively linked together and updated as our solutions evolve.Keep up with changes pertaining to SHI, our competition, and the IT industry. Qualifications Completed Bachelor’s degree.3+ years’ experience in a technical writing role.Advanced knowledge of IT solutions, services, and emerging technologies preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 preferred.Proficiency or knowledge in WordPress preferred.Working knowledge of AP style preferred. Required Skills Ability to research, write, and edit complex content for multiple platforms and audiences, including those who may not have technical backgrounds.Ability to accept constructive feedback and apply it to future projects.Ability to interview SMEs and distill their messaging into concise and compelling content with a focus on adding value for the reader.Ability to consistently maintain SHI voice.Confident in asking questions, remaining curious, and networking with internal SMEs to extract valuable messaging and content opportunities.Creative and innovative mindset.Exceptional communication and project management skills.

 

Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
