**Introduction** IBM Consulting’s Asset Engineering Services is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join this dynamic, global team to deliver outstanding results for both internal and external clients and IBM Business Partners. You will be working with highly collaborative teams in a dynamic and agile environment. Our organization’s mission is to create assets (software products) for IBM Consulting and to provide end-to-end software engineering services to our clients that leverage these assets. There a several IBM Consulting assets in play for this role. We are looking for a talented technical writer and content designer to help make a meaningful impact on how our clients use our products. You’ll do this by designing and developing technical product content providing detailed documentation of our products with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and the user experience. **Your role and responsibilities** * Design, develop, and publish IBM technical content (e.g. embedded in the UI, product tours, messages, product documentation, illustrations, and videos) that is easy to use, understand, and find. * Simplify technically complex concepts and details from multiple sources into consumable content that drives user actions. * Deliver clear, inclusive, accessible, and translated content for a global audience. * Research and design content based on user scenarios and use cases by understanding personas, reviewing UI terms and flows, actively contributing to design reviews and conducting user testing/research to validate content. * Collaborate directly with your Design team, Product Management, Development, Marketing, Support, Sales, and Enablement teams to tell a cohesive product story. Use expertise and user empathy to influence product design decisions to deliver the best user experiences we can for our clients. * Own parts of the end-to-end authoring process: design, development, editing, production, translation, life cycle management. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Experience in writing, curating, and editing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability and researching and studying a subject and its context to develop content. * Ability to evaluate and design content flow to construct a logical, compelling narrative throughout the user/client journey. * Can define and apply consistent voice and tone throughout a content journey. * Knowledge of markup languages (such as DITA XML, Markdown, HTML) and authoring tools (Oxygen or Adobe Experience Manager). * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Experience working in an agile, squad-based, continuous delivery development model * Experience documenting detailed technical content such as APIs and SDKs * Able to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to a dynamic, team based environment * Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP) — interest and ability to learn how to infuse AI into our content operations. * Technical or engineering degree or degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related field IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
