We are looking for a Technical Service Specialist to join our team!

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What You Will Do:

Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on all HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) electrical systems, and NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) equipment. Performs skilled work individually or under the direction of a higher classification or a supervisor. May be required to direct, assist, or work with other employees in the Facilities Department.

Performs duties of lower classifications.

Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial/industrial HVAC/R, electrical, building infrastructure and NGV equipment.

Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Make recommendations to Facilities management regarding the repair or replacement of equipment and systems.

Properly care for and maintain all tools and work equipment used in assigned job duties.

Prepare handwritten or computer-generated documents and reports as required by the work performed.

Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, supervisors, and other employees.

Attend Company sponsored, refresher, and manufacturers training courses on specialized equipment.

Obtain certification and operate forklift for facilities activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

Must have 8- 10 years of relevant experience. Will consider candidates with 5-7 years of experience if they have relevant certifications.

Must have a high school diploma of GED.

Must be knowledgeable in the methods of inspecting, repairing, and maintaining light industrial and commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment for large buildings including automated building management systems.

Must have demonstrated an aptitude for mechanical and electrical work.

Must be proficient in all the duties associated with the Building Maintenance Technician A job classification.

Must be able to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment from blueprints, circuit diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.

Must be proficient in the use of a variety of diagnostic equipment.

Must be able to use a Company computer to input data, generate reports, etc.

Must be willing to travel, be available for callout, and work overtime as needed.

Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather.

Must have and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Training & Certifications:

Universal EPA Section 608 Technical Certification

TPC – Hands-On Air Conditioning Maintenance and Troubleshooting 2-day class.

Aerco Factory Boiler Training Certification, or equivalent

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 100 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 100 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 100 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
