We’re in Global Service and Support and responsible for supporting our customers and keeping their instruments running. We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Service Engineer (IT Specialist) within our Technical Support team to be responsible for the efforts to keep instruments and the software connected and performing.

Position Location: US Remote

What will you do?

Provide direct customer support via phone, email and remote access for software, IT, and networking concernsComplete instrument training courses and related software to better understand and assist customers with network and cloud connectivity needsPartner with service, instrument, and software development teams to ensure accurate triage and appropriate solutions to customer networking issuesPartner with colleagues for projects sought at lowering barriers for connecting instruments, addressing security concerns, and promoting remote connectivity and supportAnalyze connectivity data, assist with root cause analyses and communicate solutions to customersHelp improve existing networking documentation for Remote Technical Hardware Support to guide customers and/or colleagues with connectivity.

How will you get here?

Education

Requires a BA in Computer Science or 5 + years meaningful experience with networking, IT or embedded systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledgeable in configuration and challenges with networking equipment such as firewalls, routers, VPNs, etcFamiliar with Windows administration capabilities and features, including use of Group Policies in corporate settingsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsCapable of producing high-quality written documentation, communications materials and proficient in verbal communication. Able to convey technical concepts to non-technical usersAbility to work multi-functionally and across different locations to optimally connect with colleagues of diverse professional backgrounds. Relate well to a wide variety of people, listen and build constructive relationships.Quick study and eager learner who is adaptable, agile, eager to get things done, own results, hit goals, and resolve issues at their root cause.Proficiency with digital literacy, specifically Microsoft office applications, with the ability to learn new computer systems quickly (Excel, Word, Power Point, Power BI, Power Automate).

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $36.42–$54.63.
