Position: Technical Senior Graphic Designer

 

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

 

The American Structurepoint Marketing + Communications Group develops the strategies and tactics to promote American Structurepoint’s services. It is our goal to deliver strategic marketing initiatives in support of American Structurepoint’s mission and business growth objectives. In short, we make the company look good!

 

We are looking for a talented and experienced technical graphic designer to join our team and help us create high-quality graphics for our proposals, presentations, and marketing materials. You should have a broad understanding of design strategy methods and practices when it comes to formatting, layout, and production for proposals, brochures, postcards, ads, flyers, presentations, websites, video graphics, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in layout design and technical graphic development such as detailed maps, renderings, cross-section roadway typicals, infographics, and animations, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Creative flair, originality, and a strong visual sense with an eye for detail.Strong conceptual thinker with excellent visual communication skills.Strong project management and organizational skills.Able to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.Formal training in graphic design or a related field.Superior time-management skills, creative problem-solving skills, and strong initiative to complete projects on time while handling multiple deadlines.Open and receptive to design critique but also able to represent their work and stand up for the design they believe in.Solid presentation, listening, and communication skills.Solid understanding of the printing and production process; comfortable working with and managing outside vendors and printers.Strong talent for all elements of design, layout, and typography with sharp attention to detailsAble to collaborate with other members of the Marketing + Communications Group, architects, and engineers, and effectively communicate their ideas and concepts through creative graphics.Able to problem solve and use various resources to find multiple design solutions, especially under narrow parameters or strict restraints.Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and accountability. Responsibilities Use current and future design trends while adhering to fundamental design principles, keeping up with the latest software and computer technologies.Collaborate closely with writers/proposal coordinators to transform content into visual graphics. Design layouts incorporating text, iconography, images, etc., to help deliver a desired message.Present and articulate design concepts to internal clients and/or the graphic design managerIncorporate changes recommended by internal clients and/or marketing director into final designs.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines and expectations are met.Review designs for errors before printing or publishing.Assist in planning and directing photography needs.Mentor junior designers and offer design critiques/reviews of their work to ensure brand standards are followed and the right graphic messages are being conveyed.Continuously seek opportunities to improve your skills and stay current with industry advancements.Create high-quality technical graphics used for proposals, project interviews, public presentations, and marketing materials.Produce interior and exterior renderings, aerial perspectives, site plans, and other visual assets to support design development and marketing efforts.Create dynamic animations and walkthroughs to showcase key features and design details of projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.Five-plus years working within a design firm or other creative team environment.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software, with strong focus on InDesign and Illustrator.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.A strong portfolio showcasing your graphic design and/or technical design skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in using rendering software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D and 3DS Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, Chaos Group Vray, GIS software, Syntheyes, Sketchup Pro. Understanding of architectural and engineering principles, construction methods, and building materials.Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately represent design concepts in 3D.Experience with virtual reality and augmented reality technologies is a plus.
