Position Purpose:
The Technical Publications / Content Distribution Associate is responsible for supporting and performing the planning, design, development, illustration, publication, and distribution of basic technical publications, including technical procedures, manuals, and revision services. This role includes supporting the balloting process, managing rework cycles, and coordinating with writing team members to ensure that documents are finalized and published to the web. This position typically requires less than 5 years of relevant experience and offers a great opportunity for growth in a technical publications environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Publications Development & Distribution:

Support the design, development, and publication of technical manuals, procedures, and documentation, ensuring that all content is accurate, clear, and meets publication standards.

Handle revisioning services for technical documentation and ensure updates are incorporated efficiently.

Assist in the final publication of documents on the web, ensuring they are properly formatted, accessible, and up-to-date.

Work closely with the writing team to coordinate the content development, revision, and approval processes, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and deadlines are met.

Web Development & Maintenance:

Develop new websites and manage the maintenance of existing websites using HTML, CSS, and PHP, including any necessary updates or changes.

Use Bootstrap 5 or other mobile-responsive frameworks to ensure all websites are compatible with both desktop and mobile devices.

Perform routine maintenance, ensuring websites are fully operational and up-to-date with content and functionalities.

Work with large datasets and tables, ensuring that they are presented in an accessible, user-friendly manner, especially on mobile devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise on the websites, ensuring that they meet performance standards.

Oversee other hosted websites, ensuring they are properly maintained and tailored for their targeted audiences.

Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate with team members and supervisors regarding the direction of the websites and any changes or updates needed.

Maintain clear and effective communication with the technical writing team to ensure content accuracy and quality across all technical publications.

Participate in the balloting process, managing the review and feedback cycle for technical documents, making necessary revisions, and assisting with the coordination of approvals.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Complete special web projects as assigned, ensuring that all deadlines are met and work is delivered to specification.

Utilize GitHub to manage version control and maintain the integrity of website code and documentation.

Stay current with industry trends in web development, technical writing, and content distribution to bring innovative solutions to the team.

Ensure all work adheres to established safety, quality, and content management guidelines.

 
Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Web Development, Computer Science, Technical Writing, Communication, or related disciplines).

Experience:

Typically has less than 5 years of relevant experience in technical publications, web development, or content distribution.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Web Development:

Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and PHP, with a focus on creating and maintaining engaging, mobile-friendly websites.

Experience with Bootstrap 5 or similar mobile-responsive frameworks.

Familiarity with JavaScript and ReactJS for interactive and dynamic website features.

Experience in working with GitHub for version control.

Ongoing Maintenance and Support:

Ability to maintain websites, troubleshoot issues, and apply necessary updates and revisions to ensure optimal functionality.

Proficiency in managing large datasets and tables for web presentation, with a focus on accessibility and ease of use.

Independent Work & Time Management:

Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

 
Additional Skills:

Familiarity with UX design principles for improving user experience across all platforms.

Basic knowledge of web crawlers, databases, and their role in content distribution and search engine optimization (SEO).

Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies as required by the company.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Other Requirements:

Ability to work on multiple web projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy in both technical documentation and web content.

Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and adjust priorities as needed.

Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
