Energy Advisory is one of our specific practice groups within Sustainability Services at JLL and addresses the rapidly growing demand for energy and infrastructure services in the real estate sector. Our comprehensive approach helps real estate clients effectively source energy contracts, improve on-site energy performance, and optimize their energy assets as they adopt new technologies.
We are currently seeking a Technical Proposal Writer that exhibits a strong understanding of the proposal and pursuit process, with a particular focus in playing a key role in developing technical solutions as part of responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), qualifications (RFQs) or information (RFIs). The Technical Proposal Writer will ideally have familiarity with the energy industry (smart buildings, electric vehicles, microgrids, solar, and so forth) or a background in drafting engineering solutions, bringing a demonstrated ability to read scope requirements and develop a solution/pricing plan for addressing the requirements.
The Technical Proposal Writer will support Proposal Managers and Pursuit Leads with the technical solutioning for larger RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, and take ownership of smaller RFPs/RFQs/RFIs responses. the Technical Proposal Writer will also support tracking of RFPs, RFIs and RFQs and support all aspects of the proposal development process from receipt of RFP/RFI/RFQs through submission. After submission, the Technical Proposal Writer will support pursuit teams with post-submittal activities including project management of demos, client interview presentations, and other ancillary support function during the full pursuit lifecycle.
This individual must exhibit strong project management, scheduling and team coordination capabilities, along with cross-functional collaboration with sales, delivery, and account management teams. The Technical Proposal Writer will also support win strategy development and ensure responses convey key messages and value propositions. This position requires developing practical hand-on knowledge of industry best practices and solid leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Own and develop the technical solutioning for RFPs/RFQs/RFIs as part of large pursuit teams.Support the bid processes and contracting phases of new business opportunities and strategic renewals, including managing smaller RFP/RFQ/RFIs.Accountable for analyzing the bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to address the customer’s issues and pain points.Support/lead proposal strategy meetings and storyboard sessions and win theme development.Assist in identifying past performance/key personnel.Build the proposal compliance matrix and track the fulfillment of all requirements.Manage writing assignments, editing, and rewriting efforts, as needed.Help draft project pricing (using pricing templates for each practice).Conduct regular proposal progress status meetings and color reviews to maintain the proposal scheduleReview completed proposal sections to ensure requirements are adequately addressedEnsure proposal content remains current and relevant as new products are developedEnsure that appropriate team comments are incorporated/resolved in the final proposalReinforce the proposal process and change management as new processes are introduced/updatedHighlight new content (post bid process) to replace, add to, or update existing content inside of Content Management platformsSupport continuous case study/past performance, resumes and biography updates and other related activities as part of Content Management.Maintain robust content in Content Management platforms in collaboration with the broader teamFacilitate post-proposal activities including Win/Loss Debrief meetings with pursuit team to develop higher level of proficiencySearch, research, identify and track prospective RFPs/RFQs/RFIs.This role is for you if…

Demonstrated Proposal and Technical Writing.Excellent MS Office Suite expertise to include Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative software.Ability to write and edit in clear, concise, and compelling language.Ability to adapt technical language from multiple sources, including the corporate AI, and revise into an easily understood solution in a one-voice narrative.Experience working on multiple proposals concurrently. 5+ years’ experience developing technical narratives in response to Commercial, Education, Federal, State and Local proposals.Strong organizational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with online bid portals. Certifications of Association of Proposal Management Professional (APMP) and/or Shipley Certification(s) a plus.Experience maintaining content within a Content Management System.Nice to have: Previous experience with Project Management Tools such as Monday.com and Hands-On Knowledge of Seismic and CRM tools.Estimated total compensation for this position:
