Futurecom Engineering is a multi-disciplines team where we excel in developing best in class repeaters for coverage solutions in the Public Safety Communication field. Our team is responsible for a wide spectrum of product development functions from requirements gathering & maturation, to hardware & software development, to various testing phases, and to ongoing product support. Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to provide effective leadership and support for Futurecom development programs. The successful individual will be required to work with a seasoned team of diverse engineering designers including Digital Hardware, DSP, Mechanical, RF and embedded Software design.

Responsibilities

 Work with development team to create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and change logs.;

Work with our Product Managers to ensure engineering work plans are properly integrated and coordinated to ensure control of the overall program is maintained;

Work closely with all team members and external stakeholders to ensure engineering projects are effectively executed and meet all project goals;

Lead engineering teams through routine analysis of project status, highlight project risks and identify effective mitigation strategies to ensure program quality and schedule deadlines are met;

Lead software development team as Scrum Master;

In situations that require a hybrid Agile approach - using good judgement and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable to achieve the project goals within designated project constraints;

Appropriate escalation any of the project management triple constants which cannot be met with vetted mitigations the working team supports;

Support regular engineering project reviews with complete and accurate project reports;

Provide instruction/support to other staff in project management discipline;

Contribute to the establishment and advancement of disciplined program management principles and practices within the engineering environment;

Occasional Travel will be required; 

Experience

Preferably multi-disciplines experience (SW, Mech, RF, and/or Digital HDWR) 

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplined team environment and individual assignments of varying degrees of ambiguity;

Demonstrated ability to apply disciplined project scheduling practices and techniques (GANTT, PERT);

Demonstrated ability to apply disciplined risk management practices and techniques;

Demonstrated ability to apply rigorous project tracking practices and techniques;

Agile Experience is an asset in this role;

Working experience with two-way radio (LMR, SMRs, FRS, EDACS, HAM) and Digital Wireless technologies (P25, LTE, Tetra, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi) would be an asset

Practical experience in the area of Information Assurance, Cyber Security engineering 

Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)

Security Certifications (e.g. FIPS-140)

Working knowledge of one or more Materials, Environmental and/or Safety Standards (e.g. MIL 810, CSA, UL, RoHS, WEE, IEC) would be an asset;

Excellent English language communication skills (verbal, written and presentation);

Additional Qualified Skills:

Complementary studies in another engineering field would be an asset (e.g. Communications, Electrical, Systems, Computer or Software) 

Eligibility for licensing by PEO is an asset.
