Technical Product Manager - Converged Infrastructure

The Role

In this Product Management role, you will be a visionary to define, create, and deliver orchestration and management automation solutions for hyperconverged and converged infrastructure - integrated compute, storage, and networking - that address the challenges and inefficiencies of the traditional data center in enterprise accounts.


You will be responsible for defining the infrastructure automation and management vision and strategy. You will assist in leading the definition of next generation Infrastructure orchestration and automation capabilities, defining a management platform deployable on-premises and as a SaaS offering federating and managing all deployments of hybrid cloud, private cloud, and edge on-premises Converged, Hyperconverged and Software Defined Infrastructure capable of supporting traditional and cloud native workloads running in virtualized, containerized, and bare metal environments. You will also assist in creating solutions utilizing automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform and IaC for IT Automation.


Collaborating with industry thought leaders and domain experts along with co-creating with innovative enterprise organizations, you will be the ‘voice of the customer’ and deliver on Hitachi's mission of pioneering next generation digital infrastructure solutions enabling a differentiating as-a-service customer experience for traditional and cloud-native applications.

 

 Key responsibilities

Identify market opportunities, define infrastructure automation and management vision and strategy.
• Profitably manage lifecycle of existing offerings; as well as successfully bring new orchestration solutions from conceptualization phase to the stage of critical adoption. Manage multiple products / solutions in parallel.
• Develop ROI projections and analysis to determine the business value, define release goals and prioritize features.
• Assist sales and system engineers in closing opportunities. Prior experience operating a large scale, highly available, and secure cloud solutions. Running and operating public cloud services like AWS, Azure, GCP is preferred.
• Provide leadership, technical expertise, and hands on expertise to help develop the team
• Partner with Engineering to develop and enhance solutions and launch them on a regular basis.
• Engage with prospects and customers to discover underlying business drivers, identify challenges, devise solutions, and demonstrate capabilities.
• Monitor relevant emerging industry trends and technologies.
• Evangelize and drive adoption of solutions / products into multiple marketplaces leveraging various communication channels and sales enablement such as presentations, speaking engagements at industry forums, whitepapers, blogs, webinars, live demonstrations, etc.

What you’ll bring

10+ years of experience in a Product Management driving next generation Infrastructure automation and management, defining an on-premises or SaaS management platform managing multiple platforms, especially converged and hyperconverged. Additional experience in Engineering, Cloud Service Provider Infrastructure Administration or and Technology Strategy role is a plus.
• 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager driving automation, orchestration specifically in Private or Hybrid Cloud market.
• 4+ years of product management experience with compute / server technology; experience with networking, storage, and other data infrastructure is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of global Hybrid and Private Cloud Infrastructure, market drivers and requirements for storage, compute, DevSecOps, observability, automation, and application technologies.
• Deep understanding of orchestration and automation technologies such as Ansible/Terraform/GitOps/IaC used for data center infrastructure management. Knowledge of device management technologies used scalable edge device management is a plus.
• Deep understanding of device scalability, unified management layer with a single API for hyperscalers, load balancing, product design knowledge, quality and automation.
• Deep understanding of data center infrastructure convergence technologies such as converged / hyperconverged / composable disaggregated infrastructure; knowledge/experience with public cloud on-premises solutions is a plus.
• Strong understanding of bare metal, virtualized (VMware/others), and containerized/Kubernetes environments; understanding of cloud native architecture and cloud native applications’ infrastructure requirements is desired.
• Experience supporting a broad array of deployment architectures for cloud and on-premises, driving end-to-end policy driven observability and management.
• Experience with integrating VMware software to manage Compute server, Storage array, and IP and FC Network switch devices; experience with vCenter, ESXi, vRealize Orchestrator, and vRealize is a plus.
• Experience with driving Licensing revenues, scalable solutions for Subscription based offerings, pricing strategies, and creating Orchestration as a building block to allow total control over all the software layers.
• Experience in the Enterprise, Cloud, Services market as a product manager, engineering leader or field-based solutions manager supporting multi-product architecture solutions.
• Experience presenting to field teams and industry forums, and an ability to engage customers and Account Teams in qualifying Hybrid Cloud solutions, architectures, and requirements.
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communications, influencing skills, customer service, business, and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships.
• A track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple conflicting priorities.
• Mentor other product managers and team members
• Master’s in business preferred, Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
• Ability to converse in Japanese is a plus.
• 10% domestic and international travel may be required.)
