Team Summary: 
Spend Clarity for Enterprise (SCE): Every business has unique requirements for managing their spend, whether that be high volume transactions, complex organizational structures with sophisticated authorization requirements, or a wide array of suppliers. Visa Spend Clarity for Enterprise simplifies the complexity of expense management, providing easy-to-use spend controls, innovative mobile and virtual payment solutions and detailed, streamlined reporting, to help medium to large businesses organize expenses, accelerate efficiency, mitigate risks, optimize cashflow, achieve spend visibility and control, and drive compliance.

What a Technical Product Manager does at Visa:
Technical Product Management (TPM) is a complimentary form of product management with talent typically having a stronger technical background, and a clear focus & remit on working closely with their development & engineering colleagues to deliver product outcomes.
The role has different accountabilities and different talent attributes to that of a Product Manager but sits firmly within the product management organisation. Generally, a TPM works within one Product domain and has a deep understanding of the product capabilities of that domain but also a general understanding of the product capabilities across the entire Spend Clarity Enterprise product suite. 

They work in close collaboration with Senior Technical Product Managers (STPMs) and Product Directors to understand the product strategy, market drivers and business goals and then execute the roadmap for the product domain. The TPM role is to champion & be the voice of “why” and “what” in inward phases of product development, from design to delivery within daily engineering dialogue.

They are accountable for feature and product outcomes in alignment with product strategy, value proposition & client/market needs. They are responsible for understanding what is valuable to the business, and what is feasible from development perspective, facilitating the requirement definition and working closely with the engineering colleagues to prioritise and plan the development work. 

While not accountable for delivery team operations, the TPM does monitor delivery progress and will actively communicate risks to Product Management leadership & Engineering leadership where necessary. The Technical Product Manager will also be involved in review/curation of any release notes and other Product documentation relevant to their Product domains.

Responsibilities:
Product Strategy Execution:

Understand product strategy, market drivers, and business goalsExecute a roadmap for the product domain in alignment with these factors

Collaboration:

Work closely with the broader product team: Senior Technical Product Managers (STPMs) Product Directors and DesignersCollaborate with engineering colleagues to ensure alignment on product development

Product Development:

Complete problem discovery and definition of ready for prioritised feature outcomesChampion and articulate the “why” and “what” during product development phases

Outcome Accountability:

Ensure features and product outcomes align with product strategy, value proposition, and client/market needsMonitor delivery progress and communicate risks to Product Management and Engineering leadership when necessary

Documentation and Communication:

Support the review and curation of release notes and other relevant documentation for the product domain.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications5+ years' experience in Fintech software product developmentExperience in working in agile environments, with excellent understanding of modern product development and design processesExperience in working in cross functional and empowered teamsAble to understand and clearly articulate the vision, strategy and business requirements of any items in the product backlogTechnical competence to be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g., architects, UX designers and development teams)Experience leading Product demos with internal stakeholdersFacilitation skills, with the ability to conduct effective workshops and meetingsExperience in Fintech, cards, payments, and/or corporate accounting practices is preferredAbility to work in a highly collaborative fashion with internal technical stakeholders to drive successful product outcomes
