Job Summary

The Finance Digital Transformation team is an exciting and evolving organization that provides the required structure, governance, and skills to implement technology solutions such as Robotic Process Automation, Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence to enable business transformation. The team is dedicated to partnering with the business and digital technology teams to drive standardization, simplification, and efficiency gains across Finance function!

The Technical Portfolio Manager is responsible for providing oversight of current and future initiatives that the Financial Digital Transformation team takes on, both within our organization as well as for other groups as a partner. By ensuring appropriate accountability is driven through the business, this role is key to ensuring the success of our transformation goals.

This is a remote position for candidates in the United States of America. However, candidates located in and around the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of North Carolina are preferred for occasional onsite client meetings.

Essential Functions

Serve as the primary point of contact for all portfolio-related activities, ensuring clear and consistent communication across business units.Drive accountability by supervising and reporting on the progress of key initiatives and projects within the portfolio.Facilitate teamwork and alignment among diverse business representatives, ensuring that all parties are working towards common goals.Prepare and deliver regular updates, status reports, and executive summaries to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements, risks, and areas requiring attention.Manage the portfolio's roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the projectBuild and sustain positive relationships with collaborators across all levels of the organization.Assist in identifying changes needed in the allocation and utilization of resources within the portfolio, ensuring outstanding efficiency and effectiveness.Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the portfolio, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.Coordinate execution across multiple projects and drive shared approach and outcomes supervisingSupport execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and operational teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as requiredManage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executivesEnsure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectationsTrack project outcomes realization and customer happiness levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collectedPerform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget tracking

Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree in Information Systems / Finance or any other relevant field4+ years of experience in portfolio management, project management, or related role.In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Solid understanding of transactional systems like Salesforce, ERP, MES, Kronos and Oracle EPM applications.Proven leadership and process skills in driving wing-to-wing business process transformation initiatives.Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and/or related business process excellence trainings (preferred)Certification in Portfolio Management (PfMP) or Project Management (PMP) (preferred).Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices.Minimum 4-6 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, or successful completion of Thermo Fisher Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP)

Salary Transparency

The salary range estimated for this position is $135,000 - $155,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
