Position Summary
This role is responsible for setting the pace of their specific production lines/area to ensure production levels are achieved during a shift. If/when a line is down, this role will work directly with supervisors, technical colleagues, and operators to get the machine back up in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
• Monitor equipment operation and escalate issues. Analyze and correct productivity and quality problems including minor adjustments to the machinery by observing the machine in operation and doing and/or recommending corrective action(s). Make equipment adjustments as necessary to ensure quality standards are achieved.
• Follow written/visual instructions including Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work.
• Collaborate with technical personnel for installation, troubleshoot, adjustments and process improvements for a production line.
• Deliver safe, proficient machine operations for your line/area. This includes machine set-up, repairs, supporting preventive/predictive maintenance, and monitoring machine cycles to meet production deliverables.
• Understand and share production metrics and processes with other operators on the line. Ability to calculate OEE % and scrap dollars.
• Conducts regular quality checks via measuring techniques/standards.
• Participate in preventive maintenance (PMs) for assigned equipment.
• Ensure the line is adequately supplied to meet production KPI's (Key Performance Indicators)
• Maintain work areas and tools according to Visual Management (identifying abnormalities) and 5S Standards; Recognize continuous improvement and 5S opportunities to processes and work environment to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Adheres to all safety standards. Understand safety requirements (Job Safety Analysis, lock-out/tag-out, pinch points, PPE).
• Assist with the continuous improvement efforts and seek opportunities to eliminate production waste.
• Train other colleagues/contractors.
We we are looking for
+ Education Requirements: **High School diploma or equivalent.**
+ **At least 2 years of production/manufacturing operations experience**
+ **Successfully pass troubleshooting/machine assessment.**
+ **Day Shift!**
+ Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders. Requires lifting 25 lbs.
+ Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and abilities
+ Ability work in a team environment as well as work independently
+ Working 12 hour rotating schedule
+ Strong Sense of urgency and prioritization skills. This role sets the pace for the team/line
+ Strong technical troubleshooting/problem-solving skills; aptitude to address quality and production issues quickly.
+ Proficient in the safe operation, set-up, repair, preventive/predictive maintenance, and the regulation of machine cycles to meet production deliverables.
+ Clear communication– ability to direct, coach and provide feedback to operators and maintenance regarding production.
+ Continuous improvement mindset; process proficiency; lean manufacturing
+ Be a self-starter - demonstrate initiative to identify and apply solutions to remove roadblocks.
+ Basic mathematical skills.
