Technical Manager (Smart Cards)

Responsibilities

Factory Operations
Manage supplier relationships Oversee all aspects of card production, including purchase of raw materials, inlay, card production and printing Manage shipping processes and international paperwork Oversee company accounts and local company operations and financials Encoding and Programming
Learn card encoding processes Develop technical skills in cryptography and smart card encoding Apply in-depth technical knowledge for factory encoding Client and Stakeholder Management
Liaise with clients to agree on specifications Attend sales meetings to update teams on new technology Conduct training sessions for internal teams and clients Meet with clients regularly Technology and Systems Development
Define systems to improve efficiencies and oversee implementation Present new technologies to internal and external audiences Test products such as HID, NXP, and IFX cards Define, purchase, and implement machinery or systems for in-house operations Create bespoke operation systems for new machinery Other Responsibilities
Create and maintain documentation on processes, products, and procedures Provide pre-sales technical support Oversee contractors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work Define yearly budget spend Investigate customer complaints, report findings, and implement safeguards Research and demonstrate new technologies IT and Staffing
Manage localised IT setup, maintenance, and repair Interview and hire staff Calculate costs of in-house production Criteria
Technical expertise in smart card encoding and cryptography (training provided, but in-depth knowledge required) Experience managing supplier relationships and factory operations Strong skills in shipping management and handling international paperwork Ability to manage company accounts and local financial operations Beneficial to learn local languages for effective communication with factory staff Proficiency in liaising with clients and presenting new technologies Capability to define systems, purchase machinery, and manage bespoke operations Experience in conducting training and managing contractors Technical aptitude for IT setup and troubleshooting Strong problem-solving skills for customer complaint resolution and process improvement
