Job Description

A Technical Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations within a facility, including preventative maintenance plans, equipment repairs, and managing a team of technicians, ensuring optimal machinery performance while adhering to safety regulations and budget constraints; their key duties involve identifying potential issues, implementing proactive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and coordinating with vendors to source necessary parts and services

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Strategy Development:

Create and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, including preventative maintenance schedules, to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency. 

Team Leadership:

Supervise and train a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. 

Equipment Troubleshooting:

Diagnose complex technical issues with machinery and systems, identify root causes, and coordinate necessary repairs. 

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including cost control, vendor negotiations, and spare parts inventory management. 

Compliance Oversight:

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies regarding maintenance procedures. 

Performance Monitoring:

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance activities, such as equipment uptime, repair response times, and cost per repair. 

Reporting and Analysis:

Generate regular reports on maintenance activities, identify trends, and propose improvements to maintenance processes. 

Vendor Management:

Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors for equipment repairs, maintenance contracts, and parts procurement. 

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, implement new technologies, and enhance equipment reliability. 

Required Skills:

Technical Expertise:

Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, depending on the industry. 

Problem-Solving:

Ability to analyze complex technical issues, troubleshoot effectively, and develop solutions. 

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team, delegate tasks, and provide effective coaching. 

Analytical Skills:

Strong data analysis skills to interpret maintenance data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. 

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, report to management, and clearly convey technical information. 

Job Qualifications

2-4+ Years of Experience A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant fieldProject Management, Maintenance Management in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred.
