What this opportunity involves:

We seek an experienced Technical Facilities Manager with a knowledge in HVAC systems to join our team. 

The position involves managing various building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety, while developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

The manager coordinates with contractors, ensures compliance with safety regulations, supervises maintenance staff, responds to emergencies, and manages inventory control. Key responsibilities include maintaining documentation, conducting regular inspections, contributing to sustainability efforts, and managing warranties. The role requires a strong technical background in building systems, leadership skills, and the ability to apply predictive, preventive, and protective maintenance approaches.

Main Responsibilities:

Oversees all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and remains current with latest HVAC technology trendsAssists in maintenance/engineering issues as requiredRecommends/implements improvements for preventive maintenance programs Develops/maintains effective Asset specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals and enforces compliance.Assist with client’s sustainability program, EHS programs.Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors and engineersAdministers all equipment and construction warranties with respect to defect liability period.Plan and coordinate and implement annual power down activities.Coordinates development of and/or maintains the as-built drawing library.Responds quickly to emergency situations (i.e. fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concernsImplements and administers inventory control programs/purchase parts and suppliesEnsures compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agency and company directives as relates to building operationsSupervises maintenance staff; and assign and monitor maintenance projects for them Conducts regular inspections of operating mechanical, electrical and equipment systems; make necessary adjustments to operating equipment and controls Provides for quality assurance by creating and implementing preventive maintenance programs and recommending improvements to existing programs on an on-going basis Maintain engineering reports

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.Thorough understanding of building services design and engineering managementHVAC knowledgeAbility to identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency/improvements and implement agreed solutionsDrive innovation / thought leadership/industry knowledgeExcellent presentation skills as well as verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop and explain complex operational management information to senior audiences
